What would that be worth?
That’s the question former outfielder Dylan Goldstein, or specifically, his attorneys, are asking. He joins Diego Pavia, among others, seeking to extend eligibility on the grounds that a JUCO year shouldn’t count.

Per the SI article, Goldstein is hoping to be eligible and available this weekend.
Goldstein started his career at Chipola College before then transferring to Florida Atlantic after one season. He would then later on transfer to Georgia ahead of the 2024 college baseball season. Goldstein is now looking to earn another season of eligibility with the Bulldogs due to him playing JUCO baseball during his freshman year in college.
There are going to be a lot of PhD scholar athletes out there some day. And to think, Stetson Bennett went to college seven years, never earned a degree, he could’ve been given the chance to keep on taking courses and winning Nattys through 2023.
In case you were wondering when the decision will be made:

Bold strategy, Dylan. Let’s see how it plays out for him.
He’s going to get his season of eligibility. The NCAA has lost all of its ability to regulate eligibility under the guise of “I can’t earn NIL.”
I still think it’s dumb, but that ship has sailed.
By the way, I still don’t get how SBIV didn’t get a degree. You have to work really hard at not going to school to do that in 11 regular semesters plus multiple summers.
I got to admit, I respect that level of slacking. I thought I was bad spending 5 years (20 consecutive quarters — yes, I’m that old, and I went every summer quarter), but I did at least manage a degree.
I was actually in the same Portuguese class as Mike Bobo. I ended up failing that class because I chose to continue having relations with this hot Filipina chic rather than show up for the final exam. I have no regrets.
I’m a quarters guy as well.
Two years at a community college in Waycross and five years at VSU (was VSC back then). I got a degree but only because the parental units decided to defund the rest of the planned partying I was doing instead of, you know, going to class.
Gotdam Hippies!!
