Of course, many argue that Mr. Burr is misguided and identify the real problem as being the overbearing cradle to grave social welfare hammock. Its just too damn easy to be poor in America so its no wonder that so many choose the lifestyle.

I saw something this morning that gave me a little dose of hope in humanity. A Fox News outrage article on Burr’s rant that you just embedded. In the comment section the vast majority of people were saying things like “I agree with everything he said” and “Find something he said that was incorrect”.
The authoritarian oligarchal system we are marching towards appears imminent though. As long as it’s shrouded in patriotism, and with the willfully ignorant in such great numbers, this ship isn’t getting turned around any time soon.
1) doesn’t that underscore just how bad the democrats are at politics? Not only in terms of messaging clearly but also choosing the right messages and the right fights.
2) we’ve been here before. The question isn’t whether things head in a different direction but a matter of when and under what circumstances.
It’s definitely a great example of how aligned most people are on so many issues but the Democrat party has completely lost the messaging war. Even as the Republican message over the years has gone from righteous patriotism to hold me beer and watch this shit.
