Won’t Be Beck

Some light has been shed on the curious case of Carson Beck’s disappearance from practice since the SECCG. Turns out he had been exploring options in what to do with his UCL injury. He’s gone under the knife, and won’t be tossing the pigskin again until Spring.

Carson Beck’s 2024 season has come to an end, as Georgia football officially announced that Beck had successful surgery to repair an elbow injury and would miss the remainder of the 2024 season.

Georgia put out an official statement announcing the news.

“Georgia quarterback Carson Beck underwent successful surgery Monday on his right elbow to repair his ulnar collateral ligament (UCL), performed by renowned orthopedic surgeon Dr. Neal ElAttrache in Los Angeles, Ca,” the statement read. ” A full recovery is expected with throwing to begin spring of 2025.”

The doctor, for those who are wondering, is the same one who has worked on Acuna. Sounds like he’s in good hands.

Not surprisingly, it’s Stockton from here on out. Kirby Smart has a good track record of inserting backups into high level games, particularly against Notre Dame.

Go ‘Dawgs.

  1. Shaping up to be one heck of an interesting off-season. Who comes? Who goes? Who stays? Who starts? Who dat? Who’s on first? Who goes to jail? Whose bed have your boots been under? Who’s the boss? Okay. We know the answer to that one. The Mayor of Whoville, CKS!

  2. No pro days throwing? Questionable for 1st round pick? Steal to get him in the 3rd? Come back…where? And risk injury again? This kid and good luck don’t seem to go together.

  3. Kirby Snart. Kirby Smart’s rarely seen cousin who looks exactly like him except he has a mustache. He does all the dirty work.

    • Damn I hate autocorrects, or whatever is the devil in my phone. You think that’s bad, you should see some of the other suggestions that I have to fix, like Brick Bowers, Lead McConkey, and Debut Swinney. It’s fun.

  4. Hate this for Beck. I think he’s got an NFL arm. Hopefully it all works out for him one way or another. I’m optimistic about Gunner at the same time. It’s possible his throws are more catchable for our current receivers. I remember Stafford having trouble at times with receivers (not named A.J) dropping missiles thrown right at their numbers. NFL receivers will catch Beck’s passes. Our receivers probably could benefit from a slightly softer throw and higher trajectory – just a thought. I like his spark and scrambling ability too. All this said, Beck has played damn tough and been a DGD. I wish him well if this is the last we’ve seen of him in the silver britches.

  5. Now we wait to see if he comes back, declares for the draft or transfers. He has another of eligibility.
