Your 9/2 (ND) game day post – Opening Weekend Day 3

The Labor Day college football opening weekend rolls into Doak Campbell Stadium tonight where FSU will try once again to set all the naysayers straight! After Fech’s takedown of Georgia State, more and more eyes are looking sideways at FSU, to see just exactly who they are. Lose this one and they’ll probably start suing each other.

FSU is a 16.5 point favorite and the O/U is 49.5, per Bet ESPN. I believe I’d take the over on this one, were I a betting man, and I am not a betting man.

This post is your open thread for tonight’s game… for those of you that don’t have to get up at the butt-crack of dawn tomorrow…

Go Dawgs!

  1. Otis as you may already know I have a family member who jumped on the FSU bandwagon in the 90s during the Goff and Donnan years. There was no face saving way back when it was evident we were in for something special on ‘21 but that didn’t stop it from happening. Last year was interesting with them barely beating a bunch of bad teams and then be embarrassed by Georgia for their trouble. Suffice it to say, I have developed a healthy dislike for Florida State and their delusional fans.

    • Free shoes is screwed, if they cover (as are supposed to) or win by 8 (their rankness vs media B.S. is what should be a cause for concern), that “L” to the north avenue fucking trade school is gonna’ hang on longer than Free shoes wants….lsu& fsu are kinda’ parallel universes…GO DAWGS!!

    • Mike, why waste the energy hating FSU? They don’t bother us at all! Save it for the ‘Bags!

    • As have I. I used to kinda have a little goodwill for FSU, them being so close to me, etc. Not anymore, bunch of delusional fans down there.

  2. I saw something scanning through SportCenter that saw a prediction from the ESPN computer that FSU has a 1% chance of making the playoffs. I guess they didn’t consult Tony Barnhart. Maybe tonight they can increase that chance a bit.

  3. Even if they pull this out, FSU is not very good. (I’m angling for Captain Obvious‘s job)

  4. Looks worse by the minute, though I don’t expect the Techies to realize that…

  5. Anyone with DirecTV service go to:
    directv.com/tvpromise/
and follow the instructions for a $20.00 credit. Later, they will Email you, and your next bill will be $20.00 less than normal.
At least, that’s how it worked for me.
