Your Saturday Walk Down Memory Lane: The Grill

Here’s another throwback picture from the Hargrett Library:

There’s a really good chance that the place hasn’t been cleaned since this picture was taken, either, based on the condition it was in when I last visited it years ago.

Still great feta cheese and fries, though.

  1. My first trip to the grill was at the other location. It hasn’t seemed the same since the politicaldemic in 2020.

  2. Had a cheeseburger there in November and thoroughly enjoyed the memories.

  3. There is a hole in my life experience: I never once ever thought about eating at The Grill, let alone actually doing it.

  4. Funny enough, we ate at The Grill yesterday while in Athens for my daughter to do an official tour and visit. She’s a HS junior, and she has her sights set on App State, but for her old man’s wallet’s sake, she’s also checking out in-state schools. I think seeing the school through the eyes of a student on the tour helped her see it as more than the place her Dad waxes rhapsodic about all the time! Even said it would be a tough choice between UGA and App State is she gets into both…

Oh, and The Grill was solid. Cleaner than I remember. And it was strange being in there in the daylight. But the decor is the same, as are the fries.
