If this is the reason Saban left Tuscaloosa, who could blame him?
Saban was holding us back? Georgia has the longest active bowl streak of all CFB programs at 26, and Alabama ain’t second. Their streak is at 20, serving as a stark reminder that Alabama was hot trash in the post-Stallings era of Crimson Tide football, and even the first years of Saban’s time in Tuscaloosa wasn’t all wine and roses, either.
Yes, Alabama is killing it in recruiting right now. While they are certainly on a hot streak in that regard, there’s a certain looseness developing in the culture in Tuscaloosa that is definitely anti-Saban, as well:
Color me skeptical, but I’ve seen this somewhere before? Loads of talent all around and a belief that we need to let the boys “just have some fun”?

Loads of amazing athletes there, and a good coaching staff. Still gonna be a problem for everyone this year. Question is what happens to them when it’s tight in the 4th quarter.

Thanks to the new rules on staffs, DeBoer is on a hot streak because Saban is still doing the recruiting. We won’t be rid of him until he dies.
I think it will be Larry Coker at Miami for a year or two. Saban is obviously way better than Butch Davis and Deboer is better than Coker but it will be hard to tell if it is the coach or players until Saban’s guys are gone. Will the new 5 star guys work like they had to under Saban. Deboer also ain’t in the Big East and Kirby Smart ain’t Frank Beamer.
The part about Saban at Bama that astounds me and as Georgia fans you will all understand is that his Bama teams especially from 2008 to 2017 or so never fucked around with bad teams. They might lose to Ole Miss or Texas AM when that team played just over there heads but they never let a CUSA team or a bottom feeder SEC team hang around and make it a game. Or if they did it was so seldom that I can only remember a few instances.
