We’re Not Very Pretty Sometimes

What do you think of when you hear this?

Reminds me a bit of our 2024 football season. Definitely left a lot to be desired in style points, but beating Texas twice, Tech in eight overtimes, and beating all the orange teams is always a successful season in my book. And an SECCG trophy to boot.

Sometimes it is “just win baby”.

  1. Great comparison. Something to be said about how the toughest and most resilient team can win over a team with a little better talent.

  2. Upon further review, we find the No.1 seeds in the current march madness invitational all have hc’s that love to break the rules of law and order, that all other coaching staffs have to attempt to abide by, at this time, Duke University hc is dismissed as no allegations have surfaced, yet….FU hc do love him some on campus stalking of PYT, manipulating modern technology does not mean he’s innocent of these charges, it just means winning is more important, which will only enable his stalking techniques further, with potential for personal harm being done to the innocent and unsuspecting victims…instead of helping and building character in student athletes, the barners and houston hc’s manipulated those that were weak and instituted a long and storied past of multiple violations, serious enough to have their employment terminated, then told no ncaa coaching for you…5 year…they have survived and have taken residence in the what was illegal then, is ok now neighborhood….the one issue in favor of the Duke HC, during his playing days, he stuck it to The North Avenue Fucking Trade School more than once…GO DAWGS!

  3. The Cougs just wouldn’t relent and kept defending their asses off. It was an ugly game to watch, but I’m sure it was beautiful to Sampson.

I hope they can get the FU Gators into a rock fight and win it all. I think Duke was better defensively than Florida so I think there is a good chance. Also, Florida can score, but they don’t move the ball as well as Duke so like Houston’s chances to stimy the Gators offense.

    • I read that Houston’s defense is one of the best in the country. I assume that is right since I have very little to judge it from. I will say that I watched about the first 10 minutes of the game last night, and even though Duke was winning I actually thought Houston had a good chance if they could keep it up. To my eye, it looked to me like Houston didn’t double team a player, but they double team the ball. Somewhat comparable to the way our better secondaries in football have done. That takes a lot of communication and teamwork. One expression for you Coogs – FTMF!

  4. Chatting with a friend last night who is much more knowledgeable about basketball than I. He goes on to explain all the different teams Kelvin Sampson has coached, great at one thing, but one other thing lacking would always keep him short of winning the big one. That’s when it hit me- He’s the Mark Richt of basketball. Lol

  5. Well I’m not much of a basketball fan as I was at UGA back in the dark ages but have the rules changed so that traveling and holding the opponent are no longer fouls. That game at the end looked more like a wrestling match than a basketball game.

    • Yes, the rules have changed apparently. After watching multiple games this tournament season, some wrestling matches with very few fouls, some where the lightest touch is whistled, I’m not really sure of the rules anymore. The officiating has certainly lived up to SEC football officials’ standards.
