Dang, Josh. It was almost like you already had been in contact with someone or something.
Fire on Saturdayish, hire on Sundayish. Who knows, but somehow, Jimmy Sexton was probably involved.
Director’s Cup is in Josh’s sights…it just doesn’t seem to involve the Men’s Basketball Program, amirite?
Maybe we just transfer the MBB program to DIII.
I don’t know (care) but could it be women’s basketball is low hanging fruit and changes can be easily made? There’s no money, nobody cares, so a lot of changes can be made with little effort. Unfortunately, men’s basketball; which by the way, is heading towards irrelevance, has just enough cache that time and money get involved and it turns into a more intensive process.
I went to the Tech game, we were down eight and my friend said if it gets to double digits – let’s bounce. Thankfully, we won. I live in Athens and that was the only game I went to, I watched several on TV and it’s infuriating. I actually hate basketball now because I can’t stand watching Georgia clank bricks, turn the ball over and go 5 minutes between baskets. It’s been going on thirty damn years of the regardless of the coach. I give UGA credit – the game experience at the Steg has improved but the teams just suck. I work out of NC, when I’m up at the office, I go two a couple of Duke or NC basketball games and it’s an entirely different sport. Hell, their trash football programs are more relevant in football than we are in basketball and it’s sad. If you had cancer in your pinky toe that was gonna kill you, you wouldn’t think twice about cutting off your toe. UGA basketball is fandom cancer.
Watching turds like Tennessee and Auburn celebrate being terrible at basketball but way ahead of us sucks. For $20 I can buy a can of paint and watch it dry on the wall with less frustration/aggravation/dismay than any UGA basketball game. I watch more futbol, hell, more cycling than UGA basketball. I’m from rural South Georgia grew up watching our singular Final Four run. Minus Dominique, mind you, and wonder what the hell did Chris Mullen and Mike Jordan ever do to have UGA wreck their tournament runs? AND, that was our first NCAA tourney appearance! I was at UGA when we punked Shaq for the regular season SEC. I was at the Space Center and saw Tubby drain threes in church shoes. UGA basketball coulda had me.
Sorry, ‘mam. I’ll have a double baconator, small fries and a regular frosty, please.
Now I’m really gonna lose my damn mind. UGA is 7-14 (5-12 if you recognise NCAA vacated records – I don’t). We won more games in our first appearance than in the subsequent 13 appearances over 43 years. SAD
