Well It Wouldn’t Be the Offseason without the ACC, Would It?

Shit. Shit. Shit.

Georgia wide receiver Nitro Tuggle was arrested and charged with two misdemeanor charges of speeding and reckless driving according to the Athens Clarke County online jail report.

Per the report, the sophomore was arrested by the Athens Clarke County police and booked Thursday at 1:56 a.m. ET.

He was released at 2:55 a.m. on bonds totaling $26.

Georgia officials declined to comment when UGASports reached out to them.

Tuggle played in eight games for the Bulldogs last year, catching three passes for 34 yards.

Given Kirby’s renewed focus on getting the youth into shape, I’d imagine the punishment isn’t going to be fun.

And now, let the rest of SEC Twitter rejoice, the Dawgs are back on the streets again.

Sigh.

+++++

Update: Kirby doesn’t have time nor patience for this shit.

Georgia announced the suspension of two players on Thursday, as sophomore wide receiver Nitro Tuggle and offensive lineman Marques Easley have been suspended indefinitely.

Tuggle was arrested on Thursday morning on speeding/maximum limit and reckless driving charges. He was released on $26 bond.

On Monday, a white Dodge was involved in a crash in an off-campus student neighborhood in Athens. Georgia State Patrol corporal Cory Andrews confirmed to Grady Newsource that the incident involved a member of the Georgia football team. The investigation into the incident is ongoing. Jake Rowe of DawgsHQ confirmed that Easley’s suspension is related to a vehicular-related issue.

  1. I’m surprised it took this long in 2025 for our first RD arrest.

  2. “I’d imagine the punishment isn’t going to be fun.”

Based on the young man’s facial expression and body language, that’s exactly what he’s thinking.

  3. The charges are not goodbut only at UGA would this be news. Good news is no other charges and no other players arrested so not street racing or partying.

  4. I would like to know the ratio of non UGA football players that get arrested vs ticketed for speeding/reckless driving and the ratio of UGA football players arrested vs ticketed.

    • Once upon a time I would have agreed with your sentiment, but at this point these players have to understand that they are under a microscope. They should hold themselves to a higher standard in this regard than the rest of the student body. There’s no excuse for any of them driving like this anymore.

      • This individual, as well other UGA student athletes, these are their driving habits, Thursday, he was driving his normal self and got ticketed…now the other individual, that accident was not good, pray no one involved experienced any injuries, minor or not…GO SLOW DAWGS!!

      • Nitro is the same dumbass that shook program down for more money feigning portal interest earlier this year. F this guy. Make an example.

    • Back in my (increasingly distant) day, the popo had a call a physician after four hours hard-on for everyone but athletes. So many of us were arrested and fined (the maximum, of course) for the most piddling shit. But guys I knew on the football and basketball teams could do whatever the hell they wanted and get away with it. I wasn’t resentful toward them but was very bitter about ACC screwing the rest of us over at every turn.

      • As a former, um, client of the ACCPD, I can attest this to be 1990s fact. Also witnessed several player fights and debauchery that never hit the news the next day. It was what it was, and it currently ain’t anymore.

        • Once upon a time, Athletics was the cash cow for the Town, but then with HOPE the Gown became big business and supplanted Athletics for the crown; now the Town looks down on Athletics more than it does the Gown, and so isn’t as afraid of giving Athletics a bigger frown….

  5. Per 247 sports, WR Nitro Tuggle and OL Marques Easley suspended from Georgia indefinitely. Suspect the portal will receive them when it opens. Hard coaching ain’t for everybody.

  6. He was released at 2:55 a.m. on bonds totaling $26.
Twenty-six dollars. Damn that ain’t much.

I had to run twice. Start at 5:00AM and died at about 8:00AM.
Then regular practice started at 9:30AM and we took a break at about 11:30AM. Started again at 1:00PM and stopped at 5:00PM. (yes, four hours)
A long ass day. I can’t believe I was dumb enough to have that day for a second time, but I learned my lesson. No party is worth that. I hope the kid is a fast learned.
    GO DAWGS

  7. Looks like Kirby has a serious no tolerance policy in place. Some internal player leadership needs to emerge to drive home the point.
