How do we compare to the AP?
Personally, I feel like the Mumme Poll better ranks TAMU and Texas than does the AP, along with Iowa State. Penn State is going to have to prove something this weekend, but I also feel like the AP has the Nittany Liars too high. Clearly a little Georgia bias is in play here for Dan Lanning and Fran Brown, and how Illinois and Notre Dame has a ranking after the Irish are 1-2 and Illinois got curb stomped by the Hoosiers is a little surprising, but our crew gave some grace to the G5 teams and allowed Memphis and Houston into the Top 25.
Also, a word about Missouri…have you watched them play yet? They have one of the best running backs in the league, imo, in Ahmad Hardy. 600 yards rushing, 6 TDs, and 7.6 yards per touch. Holy cow, just sayin’.
***Update – Napier fate poll results***
Regarding the fate of the head Lizard in charge (when will Napier get fired?):
- 35.4% – After two more losses, including a loss to Georgia
- 24.6% – End of Season
- 16.9% – After the next loss to Texas
- 13.4% – They’ll give him an extension…hopefully
- 9.8% – Possibly today
Hey, they fired Gundy on a Tuesday…you never know.
Where are the results from the Napier poll?
Crap! One second…
I watched Mizzou some. Hardy reminded me of our Bryant, who reminds me of Holyfield. Fun backs to watch.
I put that Napier would be fired “Possibly Today,” but honestly they may as well keep him on until the week before they play us. No matter what he’s getting 85% of his remaining contract as a buyout, so $19M+. If an interim coach rallys the guys and they somehow win, then they have momentum to close out the year. If they lose, well it was to be expected. If they want Gruden(!) he’s not going anywhere anytime soon. And I don’t know of any other coach who’d leave their current position immediately to take over that dumpster fire.
BTW 1992 graduate me would cry to hear that said about the turds. He also would have worked hard to become a failed football coach, as that’s more lucrative than being a politician these days.
But it didn’t stop Tommy “Wingnut” Tubberville from getting into politics.
I also put possibly today for when he gets fired, because I read somewhere that the buyout is the same regardless of when he gets fired. Why not get rid of him now and start looking?
Great title. The Senator would definitely approve in my humble opinion…..lol
Wow, “I’m a man” got fired? I missed that news. Life comes at you fast. I’m sure he’ll run for Congress soon.
