I can hear Edith saying it over and over again as Manning was coming under pressure all Saturday night. Anyway, here’s this week’s Mumme Poll, for your voting pleasure.

      • Up until Saturday I wanted to backdoor into the SEC championship game b/c I felt like we could win it, but not ready to take the national prize. But now, I’m thinking let’s watch Bama and A&M beat on each other while we rest up for that title run!

  1. I also voted to skip the SECCG. We lost our starting QB in that game last year. And even though Gunner is clearly a better QB for our system than Beck and the teams rallies around him more, I can’t help but wonder if we might have gone farther with him.

I was listening to Doering this morning and he made the distinction that while the fans may want us to sit this one out, Kirby and the players probably want to play in the SECCG because they’re competitors. I think the way we’re playing right now, we could take either aTm or Bama. But I do worry about injuries. We need to rest up.

That being said, I almost think it would be worth having us play in the SECCG to have Auburn beat Bama and cause a Chernobyl-level meltdown in Tuscaloosa.

    • No way. SEC Championship is meaningless in today’s environment.
Rest & get healthy & beat the shit out if all in the cfp.

  2. I just dropped in to say that the photo of Arch for this segment is… *chef’s kiss*. Well done!

  3. Was just thinking about what a drag it is that GTP is gone. Damn. Glad you guys have kept this going.

    • I’m very thankful as well. I’m not sure how the Senator had the time to do this the way he did. No one can match his snark and wit. We’ve got a great team working to keep us together though.

  4. I voted to skip the SECCG. While I would live to beat Bama in a rematch, I think it is better to get the rest and to avoid a physical game that can create injuries.

  5. I’ll also admit my voting line of thinking has changed over the course of the season. Early I was voting for a Top 10 best teams, the. I went to 12 a few weeks ago, and now I am voting for the 12 I think should make the CFP based on the rules to get in the invitational tournament.

I had 1 ACC, 2 Big XII, 3 B1G 10, JMU, and 5 SEC teams. Head to head played a big part in the SEC, ACC, and Independents who got in for me. So, no Vandy, Miami, or ND for me. Miami isn’t in due to bad losses so ND can’t be in due to having the same record, head to head loss, and no real quality wins.
