This Saturday will likely spell death for anyone’s summer diets…the return of Georgia football Saturdays means barbecue, beer, and other treats that aren’t approved by doctors, wives, or by your twenty year old pair of favorites jeans either.
But…there’s hope out there:

I refuse to fact check this and take it as the pure gospel when it comes to the next step in my diet regimen. My taste buds thank you, Dairy Queen.
So, for today’s Roundtable…here’s a two-parter…what’s on the menu for the game Saturday…AND…what’s your go-to weight loss/maintenance hack that you’ve discovered in life?
Discuss…please…some of us are praying for a dietary miracle around here.
Remember, that benefit is POST WORKOUT. Don’t forget to do a jumping jack when you get out of the car at DQ.
We will be in the mountains as we are every year opening weekend. Probably grilling hamburgers and hotdogs. My go to hack Thst tastes good; deer meat. Lots of deer meat.
Will be at the game so it’s gonna be Bojangles chicken on the tailgate. My weight loss hack, when I have had the willpower to do it, has always been to cut out bread, rice and beer. In other words, be miserable.
Only drink water, lots of empty calories in everything else. Load up on lean protein and fruit. Both are filling without the extra calories.
Planning on smoking a butt Saturday. I won’t see much of the game. I hope to see 2-3 limits of doves fall down in front of my barrel before the 4th quarter.
It’s gonna be a hot one on that dove field, especially if it’s a noon start. Hope you can find some shade.

“…Vegetables ain’t food. Vegetables are what food eats.”
Goddamnit. That’s supposed to be an image. I guess I need to go back and read the post about that .

Think it’s gonna be BBQ sandwiches. Don’t want to be busy and not enjoy the game. Will do my own BBQ and use Mrs Griffin’s sauce, something we always had in cabinet growing up. Oh, need one of those blizzards but I’ll workout later!!
I’ll be on the dove field early, cooking chicken for the others mid day.
Hack: Strength train and move often. Count macros. Low alcohol beers. Do yall know Guinness is only 4.2?
“what’s your go-to weight loss/maintenance hack that you’ve discovered in life”? (late in life)
Mobility routine > actual workouts AND don’t count reps, just wait til the joints stop cracking and then go to the next movement. I’ve literally spent more time doing neck rolls, arm circle, etc. than it’s taken to Time Trial a mile, lol.
With the way food is produced in our country today, only good genetics, GLP-1s or near perfect discipline eating right and exercising are the paths to sustained weight loss.
Rescue a shelter dog and take daily walks plus Mediterranean diet limiting red meat and more fruit & veggies plus high quality yogurt (my wife makes her own Bulgarian yogurt). Add at least a fairly high energy activity like tennis once per week. I’ve dropped 20 lbs since April which is a healthy and easy pace of 2 lbs per month. After 90 days I really wasn’t as hungry and I eat anything I want but bias to better quality stuff and ditched dairy and a lot of sugar and white bread. Grilled chicken for game day.
