This is first class pandering.

So Leonard Floyd is coming to the Falcons. Hate to break it to them, but they should’ve jumped on Kirby’s Dawgs when they had the chance. From what I hear, Smart has them ready for the NFL, and they have a knack for winning championships.

Kirby makes them “elite”…that has a nice “ring” to it, no?

  1. For years as a Falcons fan it infuriated me that they refused to draft Dawgs, even when it was obvious it was a better player & a better fit. I finally gave up on them & their losing ways about 10 years ago. Now I hope UGA players aren’t cursed by going to such a poorly run franchise. Sorry Leonard, hope at least you have a great season!

  2. gtu players are a better fit for the falcons. They’re used to losing.

  3. Top talent when he was with us, but can only remember 3rd & Grantham with his failures to set the edge. It’s like the Falcons marketing department is poking UGA fans in the eye rather than specifically reaching out to us.

    • Floyd’s problem setting the edge was definitely on display with Pruitt in Jacksonville. The guy was built to be a pass rusher.

  4. Good for Leonard to have his career come full circle from Dodge County HS to UGA to the Falcons.

    He and Jordan Jenkins were a great set of bookends. Throw in Zo Carter, and those 3 could cause some havoc.

  5. Didn’t he lead the Falcons in sacks last season? I admit I don’t follow the Failcons, but my buddy does and that’s what he told me.

    Given that Rankin Smith was a Georgia guy made the Falcon colors red and black, it never made sense to me that they didn’t draft Georgia players. Seems like he set the precedent that continues to this day.

    • No, he played for Buffalo and the 49’ers the year before. He’s entered the phase of his career where no one will sign him for the $ he wants except for 1 year deals. Still productive though.

  8. Hey remember when the Falcons NEEDED a wide receiver and PICKED a wide receiver named Jamie Jerman??? Yeah, they passed on some kid named Hines Ward.. I knew then the falcons were doomed..

    I mean its not like they PICKED a Linebacker only to see philly take Nolan Smith on the NEXT PICK!!! or… pick ANOTHER linebacker two rounds later only to see Philly take Nakobe Dean on the NEXT PICK!!!

    I cant even with them
