You gotta hand it to him. At 61, he’s the oldest NFL head coach to make his debut as the head coach and start the season 3-1.
With the Cleveland Browns.
With a PR nightmare QB room.

After being pretty much booed out of Baltimore and blamed as the reason why the Ravens weren’t successful, instead of tucking his tail between his legs and hanging it up, he’s making waves in the one place where most people imagine you go to let your career die.
Seems like the kind of guy you’d want to play for, no?
I gotta admit, looking back at 21 and 22, Kirby did everything he imaginably could to put together a roster of players and coaches that couldn’t be beat.
Rare air, folks.
Top shelf. I remember in 2020 when the qb position was shaken there dudes running wide open every snap. I met him at Kirby camp in 2022, great guy.
Those were heady days. Between the Cinderella Kid at quarterback, and a defense for the ages, what a time to be a Dawg it was.
I would never want to play for Fraud Monken, unless Lil Stet & Matrix Bowers were walking through the door and the best defense in the game is carrying things. Fraud tried to run off Stetson and started Dwan Mathis – full stop on that football DUI.
I don’t follow the NFL, but the guy was the Dumbledore of college OCs while he was in Athens.
If he keeps winning I expect some Browns fan to raise a sign up offering Deshaun free massages, all -inclusive.
Truth is that’s he’s best qb Cleveland has had since Otto Graham retired. (1955). He’s just been through hell since becoming a Brown. Much was self-inflicted.
If 4 gets back to the player who went punch for punch with Alabama one year and knocked them out the next, and was chucking it for 4,000+ a year in Houston, who knows what that team will do?
Monken celebrating a SB win and giving Kirby for teaching him how to do it would be surreal indeed.
(Btw, anyone notice how watching any nfl game is like a UGA alumni reunion now?)
Frank Ryan won an NFL championship after Otto Graham was gone.
Monken won championships he also had amazing players to work with. The defense wasn’t too bad either.
Monken is an outstanding OC who was in the right place at the right time with Georgia. I’ll always be grateful for that and hope he wins an NFL championship. If he does that at Cleveland he belongs in the PFHOF.
Yes it is great to see the NFL flooded with Georgia players.
To me this is the real source of BDS. Monken is just on a different level. I think Bobo is a good OC. He’s just not Monken. And the facts in this post show nobody is. That dude is just in a class of his own.
Can we agree 2020 format, plus the politics that went with it, stymied/hindered UGA’s football growth, jump starting what we got in 2021,2022, 2023…felt as though UGA football got short changed in 2020….GO DAWGS!!
