Image of the day:

Isn’t it a 15 yard penalty for standing in the white area? This was during Sawyer’s strip-six, so I’d imagine there was a trailing official there, somewhere.
The more you know!

be quiet…they got their two yankee teams in and put those southern boys in their place. fuck espn.
ESPN likes the SEC package for the regular season because of the rivalries and the intensity, but they want the Yankee teams in the playoff.
Hmmm. Makes you wonder.
With Mickey doing his best Hannibal impression…”I love it when a plan comes together”…today Mickey is “struttin’ my stuff ya’ll”, there will be no holding these fuckers back now…coming to a tv near you, the play in game on tuesday for the coveted 65th spot in the cfp…..GO DAWGS!!
“I pity the fool” that tries to mess up their plan
further conspiracy on how they seeded as I just realized that Texas and buckeyes open the season next yr… hype train rematch in 3…2…1
sorry just a bitter Dawg fan
The bottom line is if the sport is no longer going to be regional in nature, officiating also needs to be at a national level. That call was a joke. Jones was out of position. Also, the official wasn’t in the place he was supposed to be as well. Kirby should have raised holy hell about it especially after seeing the replay.
Ohhhh, the official only area, I thought this was a photo of an asshole convention…my bad!!
DIW,
That was spit my beverage out funny.
Isn’t this really about whether someone ends up in the way of an official or not?
When an official runs into a player in that area and its either ignored or it gets a warning or the fans throw bottles until the stripes change their minds, I’m not too concerned about this.
He was trailing the play and got bumped because he was too far on the outside. It’s not like he got knocked down. It’s sort of like holding. An official could call holding on every play if so desired. Was it technically interference? Yes. Did it warrant a flag? No.
I’ve seen the still of:
The ref inside (beyond) the white area
AND
Parker Jones on the white area being run into by the ref
What I don’t know is how often that action results in a warning or no flag at all. I am interested.
Before that event i thought all sideline warnings/flags were about them on the field itself. No idea about any white area or that refs expected to trod upon it freely.
What I am not going to complain about is an image of players and coaches in the white area NOT being run into by refs without a flag. That’s just a little beyond the scope of the issue for me.
That’s exactly it. The ref either looks where he’s going, moves around and warns the sideline, or he doesn’t look where he’s going, runs into someone and throws a flag.
I’ve seen games where the refs was KNOCKED DOWN and all they called was a sideline warning.
That Sugar Bowl ref had sand in his shorts and was a baby.
“ref was…”
Was that by a coach?
I wouldn’t doubt that coaches are treated less harshly than lowly walk ons not who aren’t dressed out.
If you let the commoners do that and get away with it, we’ll have anarchy!
SEC and ACC and maybe a few other teams need to get together and establish their own National Championship Playoff Game(s).
Get a good deal from a network. Crown the winner Southern CFB National Champs. Leave ESPN out of the deal. Have the game televised on the same day/time as Mickey’s phony game.
Southern Folk don’t need Herbie around, anyhow.
I’m onboard. Great idea.
Other than the fact that Mickey owns both leagues’ media rights and is a joint venturers in their conference networks, it’s a great idea. The whole idea of “if you sleep with dogs, you will get fleas” applies here.
You and your facts! lol
