This and That From Athens

Not really much to say about these, just some updates in case you missed anything during the “holiday” weekend.

First, Jarvis Jones is becoming a head coach back at his home school of Carver High in Columbus.

Next up, the Diamond Dawgs were quickly tabbed as a Regional Host, although the final seeding to see if they should be a super region host won’t be found out until today at noon.

The SEC has some decent baseball teams, no?

Last but not least, the Lady Dawgs softball team saw their season end on Sunday to the Gators. As an example of how good the league is in softball, had Georgia won on Sunday, it would’ve been the team’s first series win of the season.

Go ‘Dawgs!

  1. I hate the Lady Dawgs are done and espy to FTMF. My daughter plays softball and is pretty good so I watch a lot of it. Back when she was little and wasn’t playing yet we were at my pa-in-law’s house and he was watching college softball. I said, “What in the world are you watching?” He said, “This is the best ball on TV.” Since then I’ve come to realize he was just about right.

  2. Jarvis gets the Theron Sapp DGD Award. Both had neck injuries and were told to retire but went on the be damned Great Dawgs!

    Good luck, Jarvis!
