Reminder: Athens is beautiful in the spring.
Actually, Athens is always beautiful. Make a day of it.
I won’t be there (too long of a drive from Houston), but I’m actually glad to see it go back to this. Let the local fans enjoy time around the team and players without all the ESPN bullshit. I don’t need to watch the game to know that Kirby chose the wrong QB, or that one walk-on will be a star if they just gave him playing time.
I’d like to see these spring “games” be played against an actual name opponent. Maybe we’d play Clemson (or someone else that we don’t play during the season, like another SEC team that’s not too far away and not on our schedule, like South Carolina) and then return the trip the next week or 2? That way both teams would get to play in front of their fans.
I know it won’t be televised live, but will it be shown at a later date?
