Kirby, speaking code, but possibly optimistic one piece of the offensive line puzzle may be fitting back in Saturday.
Although head coach Kirby Smart did not come out and say it, it sounded like center Jared Wilson(sprained foot) may be ready to resume his position as the starting center for Saturday night’s game at Texas (7:30 p.m., ABC).
“Yeah, Jared’s been good here. He’s been practicing. Seems to be doing more the last two days than he has in the previous week,” Smart said after practice on Tuesday. That’s good; he repped for us today.”
Honestly, Bobo has done an admirable job considering he started the year listed as the number 3 center. Either way, it’s nice to know a little depth is adding back in this week…lets hope more positive news keeps rolling our way as the week goes on.
Drew has not been a liability so far as I can see. Pretty cool situation for Mike and Drew.
I know Wilson has to be frustrated with his season. I hope he and Tate can come back strong.
As usual, our pass pro is good enough. I’d like to see us push some folks around and rtdb on someone.
Any have an idea of when 0 gets back?
I’ll second the quiz on number 0. Having a punisher that causes tacklers to make a business decision is paramount to establishing a run game. After researching some, I realized that turf toe can be a difficult injury to mitigate. What we do have those is #3 and tat dude has been somewhat impressive. As said yesterday, not sure if it is pass pro or what but that cat can run.
On the defense, Mykel should be getting back to 100% and I read some good stuff on a couple of others; Gabe Harris? And either Justin Williams or Damon Wilson..not sure which now. Hoping one of you “scheme-ophiles” can dissect the defense better than me.
Whatever happened to these duded? Jah Jarrett & Jordan Hall? Has hall recovered yet? he should be close to it if he has not.
Hall was dressed out against MSU, but I didn’t notice him on the field at all. We need him back so we can rotate that DL to keep people fresh. I think a healthy Mikel goes a long way to curing some QB pressure woes as well.
Is 70% Wilson better than Bobo? Would they need to rotate? Changing centers in a loud, hostile environment is less than ideal. Let’s hope Wilson is closer to 100%. But hope is a shitty strategy.
Bobo has done a fine job. I agree with not switching unless Wilson is close to 100%.
