Sankey threw a lot of shade at FSU this week, and deservedly so. I guess that the ramifications of the Seminoles’ temper tantrum in the wake of being snubbed for the CFP extends beyond a 60 point ass-whooping from the other team that got snubbed from the CFP.
If the opt-outs and whining didn’t solidify it enough, the Seminoles still went and pulled a UCF, did their own self-proclaimed national championship rings, and the national “oh good grief” could be heard.

Sankey tried to make it clear, though, that the SEC’s lack of interest in the Seminoles isn’t because of the pity party or because of the Kirbstomping they received in January.
“And, in fact what’s happened over the last three years, I think, has explained why we did what we did,” Sankey said. “We’ve not been reacting. We’ve not been in a position of trying to figure something out in short order, we were able to make a decision and there were other calls before Oklahoma and Texas reached out. But the decision that was right, that fits, can continue to elevate all 16 now from where we’ve been. And we’ve been in a pretty great spot.”
That’s an interesting quote there, particularly that Texas and Oklahoma “reached out”. Did the SEC reach out first, or the opposite? And my other wondering is who really were the major considerations for expansion outside of Texas and OU?
Don’t give a rat’s ass where F$U and Clemson go, as long as it’s not the SEC.
FTMF’S and let them twist in the wind.
Having seen the waste that was laid on tcu by UGA football, Free shoes wasn’t just an opt out, it was a big time bail out, some may say crab legs U are stupid peeps, maybe not, having to explain a 60 point ass whippin’ vs saying you have moved on is easier…just imagine the size of that ring had they added 63-3 on it…GO DAWGS!!
The “Unconquered” thing is just stupid. Everyone knows they were conquered in a way that should be embarrassing to every person associated with the FSU athletic program.
Oneconquered.
I hate F-ing Florida State!
In their hey-day, I had to withstand from family members and friends that “Dooley was afraid to play FSU”.
Jimbo was a dick @ at dick university. He/They enabled a rapist, thieving QB to a Natl Championship.
I’ll be in Hassee when the Dawgs make their visit in 2027 and hope & pray Kirby (if he’s still coaching) lays a can of WA on the stinking, crying, pathetic Noles!!
FTMFs!!!
The replay was on last night of the Orange Bowl. What would the score have been if the same Georgia team (no Brock, etc.) played the complete no opt out injury FSU? I think somewhere in the 45-21 in favor of the good guys range.
I am sure Bud Elliot disagrees and we are just witnessing the beginning of the Bowden years again at FSU if they just get a conference worthy of them.
My recollection is that the message has always been that UT and OU reached out to the SEC.
You can’t know what is going on now. As the Commish said the SEC doesn’t want to be involved in any ligation. If the B1G or the SEC voiced any interest in either ACC team then they could be sued for tortuous interference by the ACC.
63-3 or 13-1. Either way FIFY.
Sankey has been consistent for years about not being first to reach out. Remember, Texas had led the prior charge to move 4 teams to the PAC-10, so I’m sure they led this time as well. Bigger question might be, did they come again with 4 and Sankey said no thanks, just Horns and Sooners, or did Texas just come with OU?
Pretty sure it was just Texass and flunky Oklahoma.
Florida State is a loud mouth, has been, delusional bunch.
