A tale of two programs. One, that’s been gaining credibility as of late:
Classy. Took two losses on the chin and accepted the fate that follows. Now, let’s check in with the crybabies at South Bend:
You took umbrage with the weakest college football conference, of which you’re a member in everything except college football, and you got your reputation tarnished by them? Really?
I mean, if you can’t join them, at least beat them, to turn a phrase.
Of all the hills to die on, it’s certainly one of them. Good luck in the B1G, I guess.
“I mean, if you can’t join them, at least beat them…”
McDonough, if this is your original thought and statement, it is brilliant. Dare I say, Senator-worthy? Copyright it, now!
This explains ND’s predicament as well as anything I’ve read.
I take that with great honor. When I wrote it, I had to double check and thought, “damn, if that ain’t Notre Dame in a nutshell”. Appreciate the compliment!
Maybe they can join the MAC, since they seem to like scheduling Akron and Toledo recently.
Really thought this HC would head toward$ a better $ituation, good luck at anchor down…GO DAWGS!!
Never interrupt your adversary’s commitment to losing. 1953 called and nobody cares about Notre Dame, anymore. Their NBC contract is a joke (look at viewership) but they get to keep the cash and don’t have to open their books. ESPN & Fox posses zero fear of that contract. SEC Network might get stronger viewership. The new fans they want to watch the CFP have absolutely ZERO knowledge of memory of Notre Dame. They think Boise St is the bigger brand and those under 30 probably have a negative view of the Church. Everything is trending away. Now they’re going to bail on the ACC. Kiss basketball money good bye. Say what you will about then Committee but they slammed the door on ND and now it might get worse.
My money is on them aligning with the B12. Easiest road with a little bit of credibility.
ACC commissioner should hold a 1:00PM press conference today to announce the league is immediately cutting all ties with ND, good luck with your scheduling bitch. The current ND administration appears to take a run and hide approach, so I don’t see them seeking out any type of challenge by joining a conference other than maybe the MAC.
Like any good, red-blooded American, I grew up disliking Notre Dame. But over the years, I’ve had quite a few bright, hard-working ND grads as colleagues. And after seeing how gracious ND fans were when we played in South Bend, I started feeling more kindly disposed to the fightin’ paddies. Then we witness tantrums like this …
Lawsuits lining up…somebody is going to cry foul over broken contracts.
Notre Dame is still (trying to) living off the legacies of Knute Rockne and Frank Leahy while conveniently ignoring the fact that Ara Parseghian played for the tie rather than going for the gold.
You get my respect, Clark Lea.
Too bad this success at Vanderbilt will likely be short lived. That team has 20-something seniors and I don’t know if they can revamp that offense to fit Jared Curtis’ strengths. He isn’t an option/RPO QB like Pavia.
Pavia is the closest thing to Cam Newton I’ve seen. He so easily handles third and long…if the pass is there, he usually nails it..if not he is really good running for it. I’m not saying I admire his hotdoggedness (and I surely couldn’t stand Cam) but Pavia is really what propelled Vandy into an excellent team for 2025. They got screwed a LOT worse than the entitled crybabies at ND.
Everything is fully erect when I read notre dame getting screwed. They are a waste of a bowl slot.
I like Clark Lea but damn…
He needs to go back to treasure hunting.
