Stat Padding, Or We’re Not Going to Play This Low RPI Team

This is becoming a sad trend in the advanced stats era of college baseball:

This isn’t an isolated incident with a mid-week game. Several others this week have been cancelled, likely for the same reason:

I’m a stats guy so I like advanced stats, but this can kill the spirit of the game and also robs some guys on your roster from getting some playing time in games where they’d never get it otherwise.

Sad.

  1. Congrats, Mizzou! ASU treated you like a crappy Mid-major team. They cancelled that one Friday “due to weather” pending in Columbia. They must have a top notch meteorology department in Tempe.

  2. Well it did snow here overnight so you can’t be too careful.

Seriously, the more they make a game of the system the more the system is going to be gamed. No one wants this yet they are hell bent on going in this direction.

  3. I’m not familiar with the university in “Louisiville I wonder if it’s in Kentuiky or Missiouri?

    • I read thru it quick as “Mark Richt Field” and thought why are these illiterate losers playing at Tech?

  4. Is this the same reason why UGA didn’t schedule a midweeker at all this week?
