While I agree with some of the stupid arrest made on student athletes, I do make a point to shake the hand of a law enforcement officer and tell them we appreciate what they do when entering Sandford Stadium.
There are bad apples in every endeavor. Sadly in the policing endeavor mistakes have terrible consequences up to and including death. But, for the ones who are people of good will, who tell the truth, don’t try to be bullies, don’t act like they’re in a free fire zone in Fallujah and try to serve their community, and the people in it, as best they can, much appreciated, always. Its a tough unrewarding job and unfortunately many of the folks that are attracted to it are too often types you want far, far away from a badge and a gun. Or even a pen and a report.
I agree. My nephew was a state trooper and he always said if people would be nice right of the bat and show some respect more time than not a ticket would not be issued. But like you said there are bad apples and having some power goes to their heads.
The Rant has been having a good time at his expense as it has come out that he is former NOPD and was “encouraged” to leave.
