To some, spewing a steady stream of bullshit is perfectly acceptable discourse from our elected officials.
However, private citizens revealing facts to the public about those officials is deserving of severe punishment.
Is this evidence of a bold but harmless hypocrisy or a symptom of a creeping fascism?
Discuss.
There are extreme ideas, and then there is Empty Green.
When someone says “Yes they can control the weather. It’s ridiculous for anyone to lie and say it can’t be done” that ought to be enough for a physician to declare them mentally incompetent. Otherwise, my question for Marjorie is the same she and others like to ask of Kamala Harris. If you claim it can be done, why aren’t you doing it already? If the weather can be controlled, why haven’t you stopped these hurricanes?
The answer is obvious: Marjorie isn’t a “they.” As a white Christian nationalist she doesn’t have access to the secrets of the globalist cabals and their Jewish Space Lasers. Until “they” share the technology Majorie and her band of patriots will fight tropical weather with nukes and sharpies.
I rarely respond to the playpen topics. But this one gives me several thoughts. First I believe it is important for private people to speak out what they know about government officials. On the other hand, folks that have information and fail to disclose it until their book can be published like Woodward or Bolton deserve to be criticized.
On the power of the MAGA influencers it is horrible what they have done to folks like the two Fulton County election workers. But it is typical Trump to use power to intimidate and threaten and pressure folks with threats and it is one of the reason why I believe he is not qualified to be president.
The powerless can take comfort in the fact that the chances of becoming the next target is somewhat low. You have blood poisoners, dog eaters, election workers, subcontractors, former cabinet officials, the justice department, the us intelligence apparatus, the courts and Ukraine all forming quite a buffer before its your turn in the barrel. The Niemöller confession doesn’t have to be cynically viewed merely as a warning. There is hope in there that the list is just so long, and growing by the day, that you’ll be perfectly fine.
There is freedom of speech. To think that there are no consequences for that same speech is both naive and moronic. The tool from Deloitte seems to fit that FAFO narrative.
Why should any private citizen concern themselves with government retribution towards their employer for releasing the truth?
Would it be cool for the guy who turned over hunter’s laptop to get the FAFO treatment from the federal government or elected officials?
There’s a “gestapo” feel to that sort of thing. And that’s different to me than the natural and probable consequence of expression.
The electronics tech that hunter gave his computer was put through the ringer when it was turned over to authorities. He had the ” gestapo” tactics used against him. You made my point for me.
I’m certainly not endorsing that sort of thing. Any specifics?
Not to give any credit to MTG, cuz she’s wacko, but cloud seeding and weather modification is absolutely a thing, going back to the 1950s. Whether it works or not is debated. California in fact does it to this day.
Again, this should not be seen as an endorsement of MTG or what she’s saying, cuz again, she’s wacko no matter what side you’re on. But it’s interesting.
Also, google “operation popeye”.
If we’ve been cloud seeding for roughly 70 to 75 years and there is no agreement on whether it works I think the answer is it doesn’t work. When there is already a lot of available moisture in the atmosphere, as there was in Vietnam for operation Popeye, seeding may cause more of it to fall to the ground. When seeding is used in areas that desperately need rainfall, the results are uniformly disappointing.
Creeping? Creeping? Derek, you serve us these tasty morsels layered like fine baklava. Focusing on just one layer, I’ll take the interjection of Christian Nationalism, which, like Kudzu, threatens to prevent anything else from prospering or growing.
There was a time when churches respected the rule: “don’t preach politics from the pulpit, and we won’t tax you.” That ship has sailed. I see Franklin Graham standing so close to Trump while “surveying” hurricane damage in N.C. that it seems like he’s giving him a prostate exam.
Consider the NC candidate for governor, that man of God, Mark “some people just need killing” Robinson. And let’s be honest, you can’t love one God without hating the followers of others. “Jewish space lasers” wreak havoc on our voting machines, and weather control machines are in George Soros’ basement. Let’s not forget those Haitian voodoo followers eating our pets.
The VP candidate that is just one fat globule breaking free from the Donald’s arterial wall from the Presidency has admitted that lies are okay if it sways public opinion to his way of thought: https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2024/sep/15/jd-vance-lies-haitian-immigrants If you don’t think JD doesn’t have a religious agenda, you’ve not been paying attention.
Survey, Rather than term limits, how about IQ limits for candidates? I figure that a smart fascist would see the value in not burning it all to the ground just so he could make sure “nobody had nothin’,” in the vernacular of Empty Green. Rome Ga. must be so proud.
It seems to me there is a sickness in this playpen. We meet here and agree on our passion for UGA football and then berate, ridicule others religion and denigrate those that are seen as supporting the “wrong” candidate. I see nothing positive in this forum. Good grief. GO DAWGS. I hope we can agree with that.
