That was the best example of why football players need to be mentally tough. The guys in orange, especially Freeze, lost it after the fumble. The guys in red helmets just kept chopping.
Yes, all those Auburn personal fouls were the consequence of Hugh Freeze lacking self control.
Even though I’m sure my blood pressure was high all night I loved this game. The defense took about 25 minutes to figure it out, but once they did it was clear Auburn was never seeing the end zone again. McElroy – who I kind of like most of the time – sounded like an idiot saying Gunner should’ve slid instead of leaping for the TD because he left too much time on the clock.
Wild and wooly game and the officiating was ragged: annoying reviews on plays that weren’t all that close among other things. Probably hurt them worse than it hurt us, but still aggravating. Nine in a row against Auburn is GREAT. And look around the country and you see the parity monster eating and getting bigger. Ole Miss had their hands full against Washington State and OM was at home. Oregon lost. Pedo State lost again. – this time to the powerhouse Northwestern. Tennessee had their hands full with Arkansas and I think they were at Kneeland.

I dunno, I can’t read lips. I hope what Kirby said was something like “Take care of your body, we need you all season.” IF he said something like, “I don’t want you to score there”, I will be highly disappointed in Kirby. There’s no logic to not scoring in that situation. There’s no way Auburn is going to score TWICE in the 90 seconds or so left in the game. That ‘take a knee and try to run out the clock’ comment is really goofy overthinking in that situation. I wonder if the analysts are causing some of our problems by thinking too much. Good on Gunner for playing like he wanted to win.

That was not the same crew from the 2024 UGA vs. Texas game in Austin. The head ref last night was Ken Williamson. The head ref in Austin last year was Matt Loeffler.

My favorite of all time was when Will posted something that wasn’t just stream of consciousness, it was borderline gibberish, and someone replied “Keep drinking, Will, you’re almost there!”

Then there was “Delightfully Debbie” or whatever her stupid “sweet honey tea” shtick was. She got kicked off after cheering for Bama on the 2nd &26 I think.
That had to be the strangest football game that I’ve ever watched. I did think that Auburn scored the TD before halftime, but it WAS close. I’m glad that they didn’t get that call, but also thought that we looked clueless in the 1st half and that they did in the 2nd half. Totally a Jekyll and Hyde game. Glad we won, but can’t figure out how we did. Sucks to be an Auburn fan this year!

If they had called it a TD, I wouldn’t have had a problem with that either. No matter what Sean McDonough was saying (he only wanted an Auburn win), the video was not clear. The ball appeared to be moving at the plane. It wasn’t clear he had control.
The SEC took waaaaaaaay more time than normal to review the play. It seemed the replay officials were trying to figure out where the ball should be placed and time on the clock.
Sean McDonough does not like Georgia. Remember when we beat the shit out of Hawaii, he said we ran up the score. Hawaii was supposed to be a great team.BS

For Auburn to have totally kicked our asses and looked a step faster than we did in the 1st half and only be up 10-3 was ridiculous. Would we have won the game without the goal line “fumble”? No way to know, but that call and the ensuing drive with all of the penalties and reviews killed them and they never looked the same after that. What a strange game. I still can’t believe that we won after the way we looked the entire 1st half until the “fumble”. It was so stupid that they blew the whistle and had no clue where the ball was as our guy was running for a TD. If it was a fumble, it was a UGA TD, so the incompetance of the officials was on full display several times last night!
The correct call was someone has a TD. Now let’s see who gets the score.

I’ve never seen two more different halves of football. If with 3 minutes left in the first half you tell me Georgia wins I’d be mildly surprised. If you told me at the same time Georgia ends up winning also with more time of possession I wouldn’t have believed it possible.
Jasper Sanks was down, Tyler Simmons not offside and officials are always correct. Only one of these is not true.
The 2nd half was the definition of complementary football. If Woodring makes that field goal that he just missed and Everette catches the easy pick, that 2nd half would have been near perfect.
