Someone’s not letting go of the Ann Arbor Atrocity without a fight.
Eh. Most of the parties have moved on, so the fact that this is coming up on a Tuesday after the fact is odd. Some others have pointed out that the game and broadcast clocks were not in sync, so there’s this:

Kind of makes sense, honestly.
In other news, you mean to tell me a broadcast screwed up a game?
He’ll, that’s nothing new.
As one pundit framed this ending teams leading at the end of the game were 10,874-0 since 1896. Until the b10 officials decided more transparency was needed.
I’ll give you one second to take that back…
Ask Nick Saban about getting an extra second in SEC country 😉
I doubt Western Michigan gets the outcome overturned, but everyone is treating this as if it’s a loss. I saw Sagarin’s ratings have Michigan as 0-1.
That event will forever be an embarrassing black cloud over the Big Shit and is worse for them than just taking the loss to WMU would have been. It’s a hundred times worse!
That asshole institution’s football program will forever have this attached to it!
AND.. they effectively get the “L” anyway!
And those dumb asses storming the field reminded me of green bottle flies swarming a warm turd.
But.. who’s to blame? A name would be fun!
Somewhere there is an individual that said, “Let’s review this and see if there’s any way we can give MI another play..and by the way..tell the Zebras on the field not to call holding on the offensive line.”
During the FSU literal blackout they discussed how time would be kept on the field before full power was restored. Near the end of the first have the broadcast team pointed out that the on screen clock was now synched with the official clock. So WMU is probably right that there is only one official clock and what everyone could see in the stadium and on tv was correct. A “replay clock”? Please…. So disgusted we are in an era where truth is who shouts the loudest or bullies the most.
Official clock or no…watch the video again and see the holding on the offensive line on both of those Hail Marys.
This is BIG 10 Privilege at it’s ugliest.
WMU was screwed like a yard-dog the whole game.
Imagine if anOSU had been MI’s opponent and this happened!
It would be one of the most wonderful events in the history of mankind!
I’d pay good money to have that happen!
But the officials wouldn’t have dared.
This is the truth. No way does Michigan get that 2nd shot.
Nor would WMU if they were the team on offense at the end of the game. No way in hell.
Good point. The B1G never would have put the additional second back on the clock if the roles reversed.
I kept wondering when someone was going to bring up the idea that perhaps it was the broadcast crew’s fault. Seemed like the most obvious answer once the Big Ten released the review footage. Either that whole thing was staged (like the moon landing!) or those referees did some incredible on-the-spot lying as they reviewed the play for it to be any sort of conspiracy.
To be the turd in the punchbowl here, the referees almost certainly got the call right, even if it’s not the emotionally satisfying one we all wanted.
Somewhere it was mentioned about the favorable clock going back to WM’s field goal and only 2 seconds run off. I watched that and sure enough. That is a little more home cooking. No way that only takes 2 seconds.
