Lucky (?) Number 7

The seeding was announced today for the Baseball postseason, and the Diamond Dawgs have a chance to host a Super Regional as a number 7 seed.

Hopefully the down time has been used to wake the bats up, as the team has see sawed from no pitching and all offense to start the season, to now quiet bats and great arms. Hopefully we’ve gotten in plenty of BP, especially against southpaws.

In case you’re wondering who might Georgia host in a Super Regional, here’s the field they are paired with…including a familiar, hated foe.

Ole Miss was red hot to finish the season, so we’ll see how it plays out.

Go Dawgs.

  1. That’s a good seed for the Dawgs, probably better than we deserve. The last half season slump continues into the regional, 13-13 last 26 games & 10-11 in SEC play. Injuries & poor offense (sound familiar) are likely to derail this once promising season unless the collective hitting light comes on. That’s the thing about baseball though, you just never know.

    • Almost all of the losses have come on the road so thankfully the Diamond Dawgs received the Top 8 seed. They have been tough to beat the entire season at Foley Field. No one in the SEC has a gaudy record down the stretch in conference except Vandy and Florida really. Every series is tough except for Mizzou.

  2. Hopefully, the Dawgs can get to the supers and win a 3 game series to get to Omaha. This team needs to put the hitting from the early season with the pitching from late in the season.

I’m not going to be able to be there next weekend, but I’ll try to make it to one of the super-regional games if possible.

  3. Duke is going to be a tough out. They were hot the latter part of the season.
