Les is Less

I posted a while back that it was a travesty that Erk couldn’t be included on a College Football Hall of Fame ballot. Similarly, there’s been a healthy debate in the same refrain that Mike Leach remains excluded from the ballot because he doesn’t have the requisite .600 winning percentage and is just shy of that mark, which could have been achieved had he coached longer and hadn’t unfortunately passed in 2022.

Something tells me we won’t see the same level of advocacy for Les Miles:

LSU self-imposed the penalty that removed its wins across four seasons after the NCAA found former offensive lineman Vadal Alexander and his family received impermissible benefits. Alexander was retroactively ruled to be ineligible from 2012 through 2015.

Just for additional context, since the article above is a pay site:

He had a great run in his better days, but the end of his era that resulted in a less than noble exit amid sexual misconduct accusations while in Baton Rouge doesn’t scream “hall of fame” in any rational argument. I guess as the refs like to say, in this case, the call on the field won’t be reversed.

And for once, I’m not one to argue the official’s ruling.

  1. Think it’s more likely those rules get changed than it is an exception is made for Les or he wins that lawsuit.

    • You either are or you aren’t, bringing lawsuits to kick the doors open says more about miles being les of a person, hey dip shit, accept the results and move the fuck on, impermissible benefits don’t happen without the hc’s approval/knowledge/acceptance, plus, mr. alexander’s probably wasn’t the only envelope being handed out, they’re fucking crazy down there!….

  2. IMHO, Lester could justifiably be excluded on merit, or lack thereof, based on what happened between the lines alone. He is a clown. Tremendous rosters and a horseshoe up your ass doesn’t make you a hof coach.

  3. I’m a bit biased but I think Erk deserves the HOF because he built such a dominant program at GSC. The other 2 do not deserve to be in the Hall of Fame. It’s not the Hall of Very Good. Leach’s offense was innovative but dominant it was not. Did he ever win a conference championship as HC?

  4. Les Miles is a weird little dude. Mike Leach was an oddball too but Les is just creepy.
