Mike, take a bow.

You’re down four key players, have to deal with lousy weather conditions, and what do you do?
Spread the ball to ten different players, and average 7 yards per carry with two backup running backs to the tune of 455 yards of offense.
I’d agree that the defense put on a show, too, confusing the “greatest Alabama quarterback since Bryce Young” to a lot of rushed throws coupled with punishing hits and turnovers.
It wasn’t a perfect game, and to be fair, the oft questioned “no call PI” was arguably an uncatchable ball. Or whatever, ignore the multitude of missed holding calls throughout the game. Least we forget, Alabama shot themselves in the foot, too.
It’s amazing to wake up and see the hurt fee fees of a fanbase who has benefitted from referee interference for decades, but I don’t want that to get in the way of what happened on the field.
Kirby and Company put on a masterclass of “give me your excuses, we’ll just beat your ass” and it was glorious.
Alabama got road graded by guys named Bo and Peanut. Sounds like an Alabama date night, if I ever heard of one.
FTMFs.
Bobo called a good game wearing handcuffs in the backfield. I was amazed at the number of contested catches Georgia made.
Where does gunner fall on the “ best UGA QBs” now?
He’s been getting a lot of Stetson 2.0 mentions as of late. He definitely looked the part last night, and I’ll say unlike Beck two years ago, he was totally unaffected by the moment in BDS. Cool Hand Gunner.
He’s got a game in Vegas to win before any of that talk.
AMEN & well said. Offensive line stepped up
How ’bout the hands on those WR’s? Half of those passes were getting dropped a few years ago. Great pass protection too.
Deboer had to coach like a river boat gambler just to stay in the game.
Not taking 3 before half was dumb. That it worked does not make it smart.
I hated that he didn’t take the FG, but I thought it was pretty damn gutsy.
Some remarkable catches by our WR and Gunner making throws he could not make last year. He really has put the work in. Peanut showed out along with the OL. Schumann was in a chess match between calling contain vs pressure and got it right more often than not. Not sure how you train edge guys and blitzing corners to pull up and contain a running QB vs going for the kill but if we can we will have solved that kryptonite too.
Agree 100% but it seems the BDS crowd arent backing off an inch. My buddy that has a raging case of BDS texted me during halftime, “Bobo is going to have to adjust. Running Phillips up the middle is not going to get it done.”
Every Phillips run for a big gain I wanted to text him, “Not getting it done, amirite?” But I just enjoyed watching the game instead. I have noticed there is a perfect overlay between people who don’t know the difference in a run play being blown up because somebody didnt block/the defense brought an extra man on a run blitz vs “running it up the middle” and people with BDS. They are the same people. Which is to say, stupid people say stupid things. And they say them with rock solid confidence.
Only thing I’ll add, I think the new OL coach is earning his pay.
No matter what Mike did last night, Dumb and Dumber who sit a few rows behind me will be calling for Bobo’s head the first time we punt on Saturday … even if we’re up by 24.
I asked my buddy one time, “Do you think running outside on every run play would work? If it would, why wouldnt Kirby just tell Bobo we have to do that?” Therr is no reasoning with those people. I was laughing so hard when Phillips would rip off a twenty yard run going between the tackles. I was wondering what all the BDS/“we always run it up the middle, Paaaaaaawl!” crowd was thinking.
Ball was not catchable. Better team won. End of story.
Better team won and it would have been by three scores had Bama been held two the same holding penalties as the better team was.
