Welp, the unimaginable has happened. Alabama lost to Oklahoma. Ole Miss lost to Florida, and Auburn beat TAMU (told ya, Net YPP don’t lie).

We still have to beat the Nerds. And not be unfocused by this.

Georgia’s in the SECCG. Discuss.

  1. Absolutely insane season. I have a feeling this kind of parity is going to become the norm in the SEC.

  6. Beat GT and then lose a close SECCG. Probably out of playoffs. That would be most UGA thing ever. Good news is we could technically lose to GT and get in the playoffs still. Crazy game.

    • If we beat the trade school, we’re in regardless. No way the committee takes 2 or 3 SEC teams to jump an SECCG loser with our resume. Would we host a first round playoff game? That might be dicey.

      I am afraid GA would never be invited to the Playoff if they lose the SEC Champ. game. Only Alabama could get away with that. We were screwed last year (as was FSU), GA could have won it all and was not given a chance. That damn cheating Mich. was given the championship. Mich. head coach cheated at least twice last year and was still invited to the playoff. That should never have happened.
      I have a good idea, let’s beat the crap out of GT, don’t worry about anything other than GT. Then win the SEC championship. We can worry about other teams after that takes place. I have no doubt that UGA has more talent in players and coaches than any other college team. We can take care of business if we just go one game at a time.

    • Seeing 2 of the underachieving teams (yes, the Barn and OU underachieved this year) take out A&M and Bama was glorious. The fact that our most hated conference rival took out Ole Miss was just icing on the cake.

      Our 2 biggest conference rivals clinched our spot in the SECCG when after Oxford, everyone was throwing dirt on the Kirby Smart era.

      Don’t look now, but the Dawgs could also end up with the nation’s #1 recruiting class again.

  9. You’re either elite or you’re not. If the Dawgs win it all this year, no one not named Kanell could say they didn’t deserve it. Hell of a lot to do! Start with a tackling seminar.

    • The DAWGS could run the table with a perfect record. Along the way they beat every other team in the top 10 by double digits……..and Kanell would say they lucked out and caught every team with a starter out, getting over the flu, having an off day etc, etc.

  11. ABC just showed an updated projection showing UGA vs UTen in the first round. Meaning they project us losing the SECCG but staying in the playoffs. I wouldn’t like that to play out at all. Possibly playing UTex three times this year. Ridiculous.

  16. It might show up and my apologies for spamming the thread, but all I wanted was to post the scene from Major League where Tom Berenger goes, “Well then I guess there’s only one thing left to do. Win the whole… fucking… thing.”

  18. This is crazy. Dawgs could end up having to beat Texas three times to win it all.

    Pretty high hurdle.
    If we beat the snot out of the nerds and lose a close one to Texas..should still get in the playoffs…IF the committee has any sense of how tough the SEC really is.

  19. lol, I spent the entire day in relief that our SEC slate has been done. Sure is nice just watching everyone else flail around.

  21. What a beautiful day of SEC chaos. Had to attend a wedding so we spent the day watching the Dogs and Ole Miss lose to the Gators at bar prior to the wedding. Post wedding enjoyed watching Oklahoma and Auburn wreak havoc on the SEC standings at another bar on the way back to our hotel.

    Not to mention the Big XII standings are a mess as well after my Buffs and BYU both lost. Days like that are what make college football so glorious.

    • When is the bride due? Imminent birth is the only reason I can think of for a fall wedding in the south. 😉

  22. Tell me a more perfect day! We munch on a cupcake that gives ur D a severe tummy ache. Kirby better have the cure. Kiffen loses the Florida job and Napier keeps it. Aubruun fans storm the field to still not be bowl eligible. Brian Cajun Kelly keeps his job. Bama privilege ends and it’s spectacular. Our ticket is punched and the two Texas schools get to knock the snot out of each other just to have the winner come to our Atlanta home away from home. What a beautiful day!

      If we beat Texas in Atlanta, wait for the bitching to start about moving the SEC championship game to Jerry World every other year because Texas runs this place.

      • The selfish part of me wouldn’t mind moving it to Jerry World because then it would be a 30-minute drive from my house to go see the DAWGS win. The more practical side of me says HELL NO!! Don’t give an inch to the arrogant assholes in Austin.

    • The call against Bama was atrocious BUT it would not have changed a damn thing in the end. All I could think was that it’s about time that they experienced what we have all had to put up with for years with “Bama privilege”. Notice how they pointed out that this was the same officiating crew that mis-officiated the UGA-TX game. How do they still have jobs?
      That said, I watched the ending of the AU-TAMU game. Some horrendously bad calls in that game as well. You know they are bad when I’m saying that AU got hosed on the call. I felt dirty pulling for AU but did so under the impression (right or wrong) that it would help us in the end (real or imagined).
      The SEC has the best teams with the best athletes and the toughest schedules. What we also have is the worst officiating in college football.

  25. Y’all are doing a great job covering this season, but dang, days like yesterday make me wish the Senator was here to see it.
