If the Net YPP Thing Holds True…

Then it looks like it’s going to come down to a B1G celebration (plus Notre Dumb). Remember the magic number was 2, and there are four teams out there with that stat (it’s the last column, by the way).

If it ends up B1G versus B1G, as much as the national B1G pundits would revel in it, it’s just going to open the floodgates on CFP reform and more play ins. “We need parity” is a thinly veiled call for “we need more money”…but it’ll be tried, nonetheless.

  1. Unless Bama’s OYPP or DYPP has a typo, Bama’s net YPP should be 0.80. Exact same as us. Unless there is a miscalculation in there somewhere. Interesting we are the exact same net YPP as Bama after a full season.

Also, how in the world does an 11-1 team have a -1.80 net YPP?!?! How is that even possible? Obviously North Texas doesn’t have 0.00 OYPP and DYPP, so maybe a lot of the other numbers are off too?

    • Guessing the bama thing is rounding. Look at North Texas and James Madison SOS and you can be bad and still win against weaker competition. No way does either belong in the playoffs.

  2. B1G numbers hyper inflated for their top teams while SEC beats on each other. We shall see.

    • I was going to say the same thing. It’s easier to get high Net YPP when 75% of your games are against the P4 equivalent of Middle Tennessee State.
