I never knew I shared a birthday with Champ. Although I could be his daddy (or in Tennessee his granddaddy), but it pretty much knocks in the head the theory that astrological signs have anything to do with personal traits. Happy Birthday Champ! One of my all-time favorites.
Weโre into the sixties. It seems real now.
My dad says Charley Trippi is the best athlete to wear red & black. I think itโs Champ. In an era of 2 platoon football, Champ rarely came off the field his last 2 years in Athens. I have no doubt he could have been an incredible wide receiver in the pros if given a chance. Truly a lockdown corner.
I would have loved to have seen Trippi and Sinkwich play live.
