Good morning. While we wait for spring practice to begin let’s look in on what other Dawgs are doing in spring sports.
The Diamond Dawgs are playing a 3 game series against Fech this weekend. Friday’s game was in the ATL, the start was delayed by weather. Started raining after game began but, looked like they were going to play through and make it an official game but, after 4.5 innings were in the books and the Dawgs were up 9-3, the Nerds wanted to stop play and the ACC umpire crew stopped it. Game is “suspended”, probably won’t be made up or completed. So, they all drove to Athens for yesterday’s game and UGA squished the bugs 3-1. Today they all drive to Lawrenceville to wrap up the series at Coolray Field. Dawgs are now 9-1 on the season, Tech drops to 7-2.
The #3 nationally ranked Lady Dawgs are out in Cali this weekend playing in the Stanford Invitational. Friday they took down Cal 4-2 and Boise State 4-1. Yesterday they dropped one to Cal 2-7 and were scheduled to play Stanford last night. Pending results of the Stanford game, the Lady Dawgs are 15-2 on the season.
Updates on our Dawgs in the Underwear Olympics… On Friday, DBs and TEs took the field for workouts. Bowers declined, stating he would workout at the UGA Pro Day. In the 40, Javon Bullard ran a 4.47 and Tykee Smith ran a 4.48. Yesterday, QBs, RBs and WRs hit the field. Ladd McConkey ran a 4.39 and Kendall Milton ran a 4.62. I don’t see that Daijun Edwards or Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint ran the 40. Today onfield workouts will be for OL, Kickers and Special Teams.
Go Dawgs!
AD Mitchell a blazing 4.34……
Ladd did not hurt himself with his 40 time.
Pretty damn good.
Heading to Coolray this afternoon to cheer on the Diamond Dawgs’ effort to sweep the season series with the nerds.
My RANT
Watching the men’s Hoopstas has become a complete beatdown. “Gator” Mike White is a complete failure. I’ve never seen a team completely melt down and quit like last night v TAMU. How ironic is it that Ole Miss comes into the Steg Wednesday evening — 20-9 — lead by Chris Beard — our outstanding AD (sarcasm) could have sent PeeWee Herman to Ole Miss (his Alma Mater) with no financial discord and signed Chris Beard (respected) for immediate results!!! But no, we sit….wait….and hope for results…..as year three (3) cometh!! SMDH!!!
They are beyond frustrating to watch. So many possessions end without even getting a shot up. They turn the ball over worse than my kid’s high school team did. Also, they can’t rebound for anything, even on the occasion when someone is in position.
UGA Basketball has been over the years mediocre at best. The few times it wasn’t, with Tubby and Harrick we just couldn’t 1. keep the coach and 2. tell the NCAA to sux it.
We don’t need a Kirby Smart for Men’s BB, but we do need a Mark Richt. Turn things around, hangs around, has success and builds a foundation. There is a young assistant somewhere who fits the bill. Go get him and support him.
FlyingPeakDawg,
and support him.
True that.
And how bout Chuck Dowdle retire from the broadcast while we’re cleaning house. LETS GET IT ON!
What are you going to do when this is headed right for you at 16mph?
That is beautiful to watch.
The man had 5 stars at UGA. That tells you a lot about the players Kirby and his staff bring to GA. Mims is a man and will make some pro team very happy and he will make some financial adviser very, very happy.
5 starts.
