If your blood runs Georgia (not just UGA), you love the Masters Tournament. We won’t hold the trade school affiliation of Bobby Jones against the tournament.
For bragging rights, here’s the link to our GTPR fantasy league:

I’ll try to give a daily update on the standings.
You’ll have to set up an account on masters.com to participate (that also gets you a chance to sign up for the ticket lottery).
Here’s what I think of the Masters:

In! Thanks, ee!
BTW, I was was doing some work using the ChatGTP and asked it to create Tiger Woods’ & Jack Nicklaus’ perfect round at the Masters (over their careers the best score on every hole) and Tiger won 46 – 48. Gary Player and ChiChi Rodriguez didn’t have accessible scores.
That’s cool. I bet Johnny Miller and Greg Norman would have pretty good scores too.
Kentucky Derby, Wimbledon, The Masters are maybe the best ever events to see in person, they all have their specific days that are better than other days, The Masters is tops for mine $$$$$$….other events also on that list, boxing, open wheel racing, bullfighting…GO DAWGS!!
Having worked in golf course maintenance for many years, I can truly appreciate the level of work and commitment that goes into making the Masters what appears on our TV screens every April. They have a large staff to begin with, but pull in Superintendents from around the country who participate just to hand rake bunkers or other jobs they have long since advanced above. The place is just simply amazing to me. Had the pleasure of seeing it first hand several times. It will make you return to your course with a renewed passion to your job. But, to me, possibly the best thing about the Masters is that they dictate to television how the commercials are limited to 3 minutes per hour. And the top corporations fall in line too.
It’s all about the golf and the golf course. Amazing. Easily the best sporting event in the world to me!!
The place is perfect. Patrons don’t litter, and anything that falls on the ground gets picked up. The playing conditions are flawless even in poor weather conditions.
Good article on how hard hit Augusta was from Hurricane Helene:
https://sports.yahoo.com/golf/article/masters-2025-how-augusta–the-city-and-the-club–climbed-out-of-their-darkest-days-together-after-hurricane-helene-115904491.html
Augusta will take years to return to anything approaching normalcy. But this week is a sign that the community can celebrate the event that made the town famou…
I live about a mile from the course and the whole area looks completely different. I have about 5 acres of wood surrounding my house and I probably lost 75% of the trees. Many were over 100 years old. So yeah, Augusta will look the same in about a 100 years. It’s sad, but I guess we’ll get used to the new look.
Sorry to hear about your trees, they really make or break the looks of most any property.
That’s awful. Sorry to hear it. Helene was a bitch.
On my bucket list to visit. My son has walked the course. He said all the pine needles are placed!
Mark Twain died before seeing Augusta National. Otherwise, he would have never said golf is a good walk spoiled.
