GTP Refugees Banner Playoff – Quarterfinals

Kirby says, “GATA! It’s Quarterfinals, baby!”

And then there were 8 . . .

Most of our playoff matches last week were blowouts (a little foreshadowing for other playoff matches this year, I’ll wager). Voting wasn’t nearly as robust this week: 150 votes compared to over 200 in the play-in round, but maybe this will be the week we’ll blow the top off the voting. The landslide victories go to Rose Bowl ’18 with 78%, Lindsey Scott and Ringo’s Pick 6 each earning 85% of the vote, and Sanford Stadium garnering 84%. It wasn’t by a landslide, but Bullard KO’s Harrison, Back 2 Back National Champions, Erk and Herschel easily dispatched their rivals. So far, no nailbiters, but that’ll change.

Here’s your quarterfinals:

Rose Bowl ’18 versus . . .

Back 2 Back National Champions

Bullard KO’s Harrison versus . . .

Sanford Stadium

The legendary Erskine “Erk” Russell versus

Ringo’s Pick 6

Herschel Walker versus . . .

Lindsey Scott

Tough choices, folks, but only one can be champion!

  1. Back 2 Back National Champions gonna win this thang by……a. Blowout.

    • If the ratio’s work out to 33-18? I’m putting the mortgage on the Natty…

  2. Some bad pairings by the selection committee. Hope you enjoyed your surf & turf after golf during the meetings to decide.

    • Yeah, I expect a full accounting from the committee. How much is this going to raise my subscription fees? I don’t pay for boondoggles!

  3. Yes, they are tough choices, but monochrome photos are not a good look for a banner on a blog. Jes’ sayin’ it made a couple of choices easier.

  4. I’m enjoying this. I’m a Back to back or Ringo pick six guy but could stand it if Bullard’s KO won.

  5. Black & White pictures are hard to vote for and the only Sanford Stadium that I’d vote for would have to be an actual color picture of what it looks like now vs 1929.

  6. Love Walker, Scott and the other dogs, but this is a team blog.

Back 2 Back has to win.
