I admittedly missed this, what with the running laps around the house and screaming, but I mentioned last night Kirby’s got balls of steel. He said the quiet part out loud, that Greg did his level best to gift wrap a Texas Championship, screw Georgia, and erode the integrity of the conference, but he forgot about Kirby mf’ing Smart and his dedication to kicking ass and taking names.
The look on Sankey’s stupid moping face says it all. He didn’t get the script to Smart, and he had to sit there and take it.

Kirby Smart is a force of nature. Greg Sankey and his paymasters at ESPN tried to gift wrap the conference to Texas. He wrote his schedule to make sure he’d break Georgia on the road. He forgot if you come at the King you better not miss. Kirby sure as hell didn’t forget.
Kirby has instilled in his team everything you want your team to be. Tuff, physical, selfless, team first, never quit and the word of the season RESILIENT.
I love what Trevor Etienne said after the game … even Handbags were tipping a cap to him in response.
Kirby seems to love him some #1. In the presser, he said Etienne was the MVP not just for the game he had but how he led during the week.
I also think Sankey was pissed by the Mickey Mouse production of the post game ceremony by the Mickey Mouse team…anyone else notice that Laura Rutledge just hands the microphone to the commish and says “say something as I have to figure out who is the MVP and also get the MVP trophy”… i think GBP could share their insights on covering games…he had to be thinking CBS at least were professionals…the shot by Kirby was “real and spectacular”
Okay, late last night I finally watched and chose to watch the Skycast version. Leave it to ESPN to blow a free lunch. All they have to do is keep the camera on the plays, but Nooooo. For at least the first quarter I a split screen with the play on the right and Marty, McGee, Cole and someone I didn’t even know yammering. I guess ESPN knew I was muting them, so they figured I wanted to WATCH them bump their gums? Geez, Greg you deserve what you got.
Could that have been the replay of the Field Pass broadcast? I mistakenly clicked on that one, thinking it was SkyCast. Found the plain-vanilla ABC broadcast shortly thereafter.

It may be sacrilege to say this, but Kirby and Dawgnation should send a thank you card to Brent Venerables. Sankey’s plot to screw the Dawgs would have worked without that Bama loss.
