Well…
Freeze now has ample time and money for golfing, with a buyout of over $15 million.

In other news…
Trust me when I say that there is absolutely no credibility or validity to that, but there is no shortage of rumors that Tennessee has decided to move on from Heupel. I doubt any of that is true, but the Hillbillies are restless and want that championship they’re due….and they want it now.
Just do like Auburn did, Vowels fans, and declare multiple additional national championships and make yourselves feel better!
And over in Columbia:
Seems we’re learning that attempting a coaching comeback in the SEC isn’t for everybody.
Saw where Mr. YellaWood wants Jimbo Fisher. Ah yes, make it happen today!
Reverend Freeze has tee times lined up everywhere! (His handicap had slipped a bit.)
And 10RC definitely needs to re-hire Jeremy Pruitt as his show/cause has been lifted and he’s tanned, rested, and ready!
Seems like the Cocks fired the wrong coach, but definitely feel like they should give the dork Beamer a big raise and multi year contract extension!
HBTMFD…(That better EE?) 😉😁
Willie Martinez as interim head coach?!
He has been on their staff working his magic with their DB. If he’s the interim HC he’ll grab Coach Fabris to handle special teams.
Glen Mason is available….
We stayed at Lake Martin with friends for the Auburn game. During brunch that Sunday morning at one of the golf clubs there we were told a story that after a round of golf there Freeze was overheard saying, “if this Auburn thing doesn’t work out we just might stay here. We really like it.”
Guess that will be put to the test.
which lake martin???
A large lake north of I-85 about halfway between Auburn and Montgomery.
So after Freeze the news broke, I jumped on the Cocktail Party wrap-up post with a long post about my coaching chaos predictions. I didn’t copy and paste and I made an attempt to edit.
Arkansas – Petrino is losing close but he is not the answer. Lashlee re-upped at SMU so my prediction is the Hogs prune from the CKS coaching tree again and hire Glen Schumann.
Auburn – Auburn’s last three coaches were non-plussed about recruiting. As the 3rd best SEC job open and with coaching candidates opting to stay for big money (Cignetti, Lashlee, etc), they get creative and bring with Joe Brady from the Bills who taps Orgeron as his DC.
Florida – They want Laner … they hire Jedd Fisch to tap into the Spurrier days.
LSU – What should be the top job open also has the most dysfunctional situation. I hope the Governor follows through and allows Trump to make the hire. Trump has such terrible football instincts NFL owners who approved the Haslams’s and Dan Snyder don’t want him. Trump would pick Lou Holtz. When they fired Kelly, I thought it was forgone that Lane Kiffin would move there especially if Woodward was making the hire. Now it sounds like the Governor does not have another big buyout so scratch Saban (as if) and Kiffin. Same with Drinkwitz. They ask Marcus Freeman, but no. Jimbo says they can hire him without a buyout. They end up getting Matt Campbell.
Penn St – Cignetti and Rhule were the favorites. They will put a hard sell on Elko but why would he leave A&M? This is the job Eli Drinkwitz should want and take.
Kentucky – Stoops knows it is time. UK and the fanbase is ready to move on as well. They renegotiate the buyout from $30+m due in 30 days to either 5 year payout over time or something around $22m. Kentucky hires Jon Sumrall from Tulane who played at UK.
South Carolina – Beamer firing OL and OC’s are not the moves of a head coach who is secure in his position. If they lose to the worst Clemson team in the Dabo era, they will pull the plug on Beamer Ball. Beamer decides to move to the ACC. They hire another former NC winning coach (Jimbo Fisher) who still has similar colors in his closet.
Oklahoma – What? They are not firing Venables. He is going to get a call from another program where he has ties. Oklahoma hires Will Stein from Oregon
Clemson – So where is Venables going? After a disastrous season, Dabo decides to take a pause. Everyone there – administration, AD, coaches, players and fans know it is time. It is a program that needs new ideas but will push to bring back Venables. Venables can see Oklahoma’s place in the SEC. He knows he will get time at Clemson and the CFP path is easier.
FSU – Norvell will finish 6-6 which is a big improvement over the previous year but not where they thought they should be. They will negotiate a better buyout from Norvell. dCoach Prime? Nope. They will take a run at Clark Lea and also will call Brent Key and Jeff Brohm. They eventually hire Scott Satterfield from Cincinnati.
Va Tech – Beamer comes home? Nope. James Franklin all the way. He will get them back to 9-10 win team per season and in the ACC that can get you CFP playoff appearances.
UNC – The Belichick experiment gets pulled after one year. Everyone knows it isn’t working. They go hire Shane Beamer.
Cincinnati – With Satterfield in Tallahassee, they need a coach. Run it back with Luke Fickell.
Wisconsin – Big time disaster under Fickell. #1 candidate Matt Campbell goes to LSU. They tap Wisconsin native and Wisconsin coaching legend Lance Leipold.
Kansas – They will hire someone.
Every year the NFL taps someone from college unexpectedly (Matt Rhule, Kliff Kingsbury, Chip Kelly, etc.) I predict the three most likely are:
USC – Lincoln Riley leaves LA. Arthur Blank realizes it makes no sense for Raheem Morris (a defensive coach) to head up a team with this type of offensive talent. USC tries to convince Dan Lanning to leave Oregon but end up with Kenny Dillingham.
ASU – Hires Sean Lewis from SDSU.
Texas – After losing in Athens, Sarkisian confesses he hasn’t been talking to the Titans but the Raiders instead. Geno Smith and Pete Carroll are not the answer. Sarkisian will have a high pick to draft a QB to go along with Bowers and Jeanty. New HC in Austin? Say howdy Laner!
Ohio St – After getting blitzed by Indiana in the B10 Championship and losing in the playoffs, Ryan Day remembers that the fanbase wanted to fire him before last year’s playoff run. He will get the opportunity to choose to coach the Browns & draft a QB or the Bengals with Joe Burrow but a terrible defense. Urban Meyer talks up Brian Hartline but the portion of the fanbase that wants a proven coach wins out and brings Marcus Freeman back to Columbus. Hartline follows Day to the NFL.
Notre Dame – Their top 2 are Brent Key and Clark Lea. Lea leaves Nashvegas for South Bend.
Vanderbilt – They are gutted to lose Lea. Tries to get Brent Key. Ends up promoting Tim Beck.
Key stays in Atlanta while eating a steady diet of nails and broken light bulbs.
I already had the impression that Hugh was mailing it in this year, but the standing Sunday tee time during the season just screams “I don’t give a shit anymore. “
unionjackgin did too good a job with likeliest hires, so I’m going with funniest hires.
Arkansas – Jimbo
Auburn – Jimbo
Florida – Spurrier, Jr.
LSU – Jimbo
Penn St – Jimbo
Va Tech – Jimbo
