We were somewhere around Birmingham, on the edge of the Appalachians, when the bullshit began to take hold.
So let me see if I follow this correctly.
Earlier in the week, former 5 star Jaylen Mbakwe announced he’s hitting the portal. Pictures of Mbakwe and Ryan Williams at a game are posted on Williams’ socials, and the Gumps lose their collective shit that Williams is about to follow.
Wednesday, Alabama’s AD pens a plea to the Tide faithful that they need to pony up more money to be “the standard” in college football again. I’m sure the money from Cletus’s trailer park faithful flowed.
Thursday, Mbakwe is back.
I gotta hand it to them, fear mongering using a fake portal announcement is the new recruiting strategy, and Alabama just set a new standard in low. Bravo, Gumps, bravo.
The possibility of physical and mental collapse is now very real. No sympathy for Saban, keep that in mind. Buy the ticket, take the ride.
Already sick and tired of NIL
I have no issue with Athletes having jobs and able to make money from autographs, etc., but the money has been ridiculous and needs to be managed somehow.
The whole system is a complete joke. Absurd.
It’s so odd to me that for years the NCAA wanted an iron grip on every-damn-thing and suddenly they’ve decided anything goes and have become anarchists.
Funny how losing lawsuits does that.
I’m glad it’s funny to you. I’m having trouble laughing.
Mike it’s good to see you here again!
Thanks. I never left I just couldn’t comment for the longest time.
Anarchy is restrained by order and rules, but when judges start deciding any rule or limitation is an illegal “restraint on trade”, welcome to the bottom of the slippery slope!
