Good morning! My attempt at predicting the future didn’t go so well. Decided to refrain from that today. And, the Diamond Dawgs season came to an unfortunate end yesterday so, they are in “wait til next year” mode, again.
Leaving us with one light at the end of the tunnel… the kick off to open UGA’s football season is down to 89 days to go and we have reached card #189 in the Georgia’s Finest set:

Go Dawgs!
The Greek Streak!
Yes! I remember watching that game on TV. Most exciting game I’d seen up until that time. (I was 12.)
Anyone know what happened to Poulos? It’s been a long time, but I vaguely remember being disappointed with going to the Gator Bowl. How did we go 10-1 and end up in the fricking Gator Bowl?
Auburn beat us, then lost to Alabama IIRC. So Auburn played Oklahoma in the Sugar Bowl and Alabama played Nebraska in the Orange Bowl. Gator Bowl was probably the #5 overall Bowl in them days.
The loss that year was to Auburn, who had Pat Sullivan to Terry Beasley. It was a major disappointment in my life at the time. Their fans left the game singing “Hang down your head, Vince Dooley”. It cemented my eternal hatred for all things Barner (the Harvard of Lee County, Alabama to you).
