Buddy of mine and I went to the 1977 Dog Day Rock Fest at Grunt Field in Atlanta. The lineup was:
Atlanta Rhythm Section
Bob Seger
Foreigner
Heart
Damn good concert and only cost $8.00 to get in.

Wow, $8 in 77 is $44 now and would still be a deal literally for that lineup. Considering I balked at Jace Isbell at the Classic Center for $170 ($340 since I woulda took a certain purdy Southern Belle with me), I’m wondering if I’m priced out of concerts. It seems like there are few good shows in the Classic City nowadays. I don’t know if I’m still banned from the Ga Theater Rooftop because I don’t have a vax card. I think Kevn Kinney was only $30 at Indigo Hotel but I forgot to go. Foundry seems to be out of the music business. 40 Watt had DBT but I was out of town that weekend or I would have paid for the Thursday show (my favorite day to catch them) and their lineup ain’t jumped out at me. Am I the only Refugee noticing this pattern? I got the money but I’m increasingly not wanting to pay the premium anymore. Reckon screaming at clouds is in my future
Oh, and great musical pick! Love me some ARS. They were huge and are under appreciated. I love “Back up against the wall”.
Royce was a friend and he left us way too soon.
Had a well tuned amplified 8-track in my car which was great playing ARS (and others) very loud. Knew when to stop singing so the channel could change mid song and everything.
