Trippi owned package stores at one time, would occasionally see him at the register on Gaines School Rd. Can’t remember an Alps/Baxter location. Maybe 5 points?

He had a beer distributorship. My fraternity used to get kegs from them. We normally got Falstaff, because it was more beer for the money. A few times we splurged on Miller, which tasted like craft beer after the Falstaff.

I’m old. My Dad was old when I was born. Chief used to tell me about watching Sinkwich play. He was generally the most athletically gifted player of his time. Obviously it was a different game back in the day. But he was a true dual threat quarterback. Chief believed Sinckwich could have played the modern game and excelled.

I used to argue/discuss Herschel vs Sinkwich & Trippi with my dad. I just wish I could’ve seen Sinkwich and Trippi both play.

My dad was in school at the same time as Trippi. Said he was the best football player he has ever seen.
