Unless Bill Hartman, Jr (the TV announcer) was really Bill Hartman III, this is another glaring error.
Bill Sr. was a legend for sure. I wonder why Butler doesn’t come around and volunteer coach? I guess he enjoyed the golf course.
The TV announcer was definitely his son.
An auburn punter years ago also had an 82 yarder, tying Hartman for the SEC record at the time. When they met, the Plainsman bragged, “Just about all of mine was airborne…just 5 yards of it were on the roll.”
Hartman replied: “I guess you got me cause mine went out of bounds … on the fly.”
