In case you missed it, the Kyle Whittingham era in Michigan kicked off with a field storming.
What massive upset had they pulled you say? Must’ve been an upset over Ohio State or something, right?
Wrong.
Sure it took a last minute Hail Mary. It’s just that it was the second Hail Mary on the drive, which means Western Michigan became the first team ever to lose a game when leading at the end of regulation.
Of course, the B1G came out with an explanation and allowance for another play as the WMU defender touched the ball out of bounds with an apparent mythical second and they were able to succeed in the second attempt.
Meanwhile, #2 Oregon struggled with a pesky Boise State in what would’ve been the newly PAC-N conference upset of the year.
Of course, it was not without controversy in a missed roughing the passer call on a crucial fourth down for Boise.
Not throwing shade at the B1G, since the SEC still has a tilt with Louisville today that remains to be seen about the conference, but color me unimpressed with Oregon, yet again.
It’s another wonderful year to bitch about the other guy, and week one has already given us plenty of space to do so.

Mentioned this earlier but don’t forget – Rutgers got beat by…UMass. Go look up their recent history. It shoulda been Rutgers & Michigan losses & the squeaker for Oregon w the bammerish-no call on the qb on that play.

Total BS. Michigan lost. I watched it. I saw the Michigan QB throw the 1st hail mary out of the end zone at 0:00 on the clock before anyone touched the ball. Now we know that, if need be, there’s an alternate video that can be manipulated to make sure that the big boy school can have another shot at winning a game that’s already been lost. Harbaugh may be gone, but Michigan is still cheating.
I guess the question now is which is more pathetic, that Michigan needed a last second (literally) do-over from the officials to beat checks notes Western Michigan by a single point, or that the “fans” in attendance were so ecstatic they rushed the field afterwards. BIG is back baby!
