That’s right…three edge rushers in the upper echelon of defensive linemen in that graphic from Ole Miss. I’m confident we can neutralize one…but having two at a time was a lot to deal with in Oxford last week.
Also, thank God we don’t play South Carolina. If we did, why do I suspect the SEC would’ve had us playing them in Williams-Brice at 7:30?
And Mykel Williams isn’t even on the graphic because he’s been hurt.

I’m not sure how they define Mykel…LB or Edge? Either way, his absence would impact his presence on the graphic.
Just further proof you need an Elite NIL game going forward. I don’t like it one bit. It’s just reality until the rules find some form of balance between fair pay and ridiculous. Uncapped spending is not a sustainable business model. It is the current state of CFB.

Question. And this is strictly my interpretation gleaned from piecing together semi-independent comments, while also knowing the history of the program reasonably well.
On NIL, are we in a double-whammy fight against (1) comfort (2 natties in the bag, built in the twilight of pre-NIL) and (2) tapped out wallets (the massive facilities catch-up from 16-21) ?
I work with a very plugged-in Ole Miss alum. He’s been telling me for a while now that damn near every commercial transaction in Oxford, MS has a round up / donate option to their NIL. Basically, every business down to the card transaction is rowing in the NIL boat. Are we that scaled up in Athens ? Can we add that to the 2AM bar closing tabs ?
I’m hoping that loss hits home like the 2019 SEC championship game did.
No I can’t imagine how bad NIL would have been unhandled under agent McGarity and Dr. I Hate Football Adams.
NIL just takes so much away from the game. When you have a QB making $1.7 million and not playing very well because you have 3 OL that are making maybe $200,000 and they are injured. How hard are they going to work to get well, and it is hard work. I hoped that the money would be more equal, and everyone would be satisfied. I think it started that way, but the big names jumped way ahead, and I am afraid it is now causing problems in the locker-room. If any coach can handle this problem, I am sure Kirby can. I do trust in Kirby.
Did Ole Miss kick our butts because of those 3 guys on the list, or are those 3 guys on the list because of the way they kicked our butt?

Brutal, brutal play by the OL. Yes, Ole Miss has a talented DL. But we got dominated all night, even on the opening drive, and the missed blocking assignments didn’t help. Holy guacamole. If we play like that against Tennessee, we won’t score a point.
Maybe we should recruit and sign a couple of the top 5-star edge rushers every year.
