It’s kind of amazing to see how loosening up the defense and pushing the ball downfield actually makes the few completed screens more successful. Beck still squeezed in a few tight ones, but the field was way more open for Beck and it shows in this highlight video.

I wrote this yesterday; the first Beck pass was deep and confused the Tenn. DC. He was not expecting that. Ga. with no RB’s and bad OL play, seemed dependent on those little flares and center screens, but no Beck and MB came deep the first throw. It was nor completed, but it shook the Tenn. D and made things fun all night.
That catch by Humphreys (~2:30 mark in the video) was amazing. We were wanting to see the replay but the team was playing with tempo and they didn’t have time.

When Carson gets a little help from his targets he begins to feel it and becomes better. Yes there were drops like the opening pass. There were finally contested catches on third down repeatedly.
