Kirby’s adding some young talent to the offensive planning room.
According to FootballScoop, the Georgia Bulldogs are making moves to add offensive analyst Ty Hatcher. Hatcher is the son of former Samford head football coach Chris Hatcher. At just 25 years of age, Hatcher has already worked for staffs the likes of Alabama, Texas A&M, and Oklahoma. He’s on track for quite a coaching career considering the immediate climb and connections to the coaching world.
It’s a full circle hire for Kirby, as Chris Hatcher gave a young Kirby Smart his first coaching gig at Valdosta State in 2000.
Ty is a rapid riser in the coaching world and has also served under Bill O’Brien during his time at Alabama. Who knows, we could be looking at the next offensive coordinator in Athens.
I wonder if Hatcher was wandering down Peachtree Street when Kirby made the call.
Maybe he can help us come out of the tunnel ready to score more 1st and 2nd Quarter points. Play with a lead instead of having to come back in games for a change. 🙏
Seems like there won’t be major coaching changes. I had assumed yesterday would have been Black Friday for one or two of them. The minor analyst moves indicate Kirby is leaning on the success of 2023 and chalking up 2024’s mess to injuries and schedule. He knows better than anyone, and I hope he’s right.
After reading the prior post I’m wondering if, in my disappointment, I didn’t take all the injuries into account this season. Who knows?
It’s not like Kirby is an open book about them, so how could anyone know?
Hopefully he is the crayon sharpener we need.
Comes from a long line of Offensive minds. Mumme, Leach and not to mention his Dad’s success at Valdosta St. Hopefully he’ll help find more mismatches and put a little imagination in our stale offense.
Ugh. Another wasted season with Bobo.
Maybe he wants to hang the lack of a star QB on Bobo and let any top notch new OC come in when we finally (ever?) have a start QB recruit? Am I dreaming.
We will not win a title with Bobo. It is literally the same with him always.
For a young guy Hatcher has worked for some pretty good coaches.
Adding some young blood to the O staff can only help.
