Both Beck and Thorson got MRIs on Sunday, but based on this, I’m not optimistic that Beck will be playing for the Dawgs again.
From everything I read about this, if his UCL is torn, he’s going to need the equivalent of Tommy John’s surgery. Most likely, it’s looking like it’s Gunner Stockton season. Makes one wonder if Bobo won’t steal some pages from Buster Faulkner’s playbook to get him ready by New Year’s Day.

While we still haven’t heard anything official, that was my first thought, too. I’m guessing Tommy John surgery and a good rehab.
Hate it for Beck. The kid seems snakebit with some of the luck he’s had. I hope he makes a full recovery.
My selfish concern is that Kirby wants to play a 70% Beck over Gunner. That will be a very tough call. I’d almost prefer they go all in on Stockton to have him ready for the Sugar Bowl, unless Beck’s injury really is minor.
If Carson’s UCL is strained he might play in the 1/20 game. The treatment would be rest, like zero throwing rest. The build up to normal throwing is pretty slow as well. Best case he has a mild sprain, worst case full/partial tear requiring surgery. I bet UGA keeps it real quiet unless Dr Anderson gets the knife out this week.
If Gunner gets us through 2 games and into the natty, unless we win despite him, I don’t see how you could bench him for Beck at that point.
Dawgs don’t play until New Years Day.
I gather there is no disclosure requirement post season? Staff can just try to keep everyone guessing?
Nothing required until the week of a game by the SEC. Not sure if the league rule applies to bowl games. If anyone sees Carson throwing at practice it’s a really really good sign.
The rule does not apply to OOC games. All of the playoffs included.
Praying for healing…not just because we need him to play, but because he has bright NFL prospects if that arm is healthy. Carson’s been a DGD and I hope we see him on the field in January. Hunker Down, Carson..and get well!
Maybe he got insurance as part of his NIL package.
That dude goes down as a DGD in my book. He’s taken a lot of criticism this year bu for him to come back into the game with one arm when he doesn’t have too makes him OK in my book. I wish him a speedy recovery and if he’s healthy would love to see him suit up again in the red and black. Go Dawgs!!!
Gunner’s got that Shake n’ Bake, a little juke and jive with a fresh set of eyes. The kid’s gonna deliver (see what I did there?) if Beck has to mentor and coach from the sideline. We got the SEC, and Sugar’s coming next. Go Dawgs!

If Stockton is our QB going forward, I just hope we let him throw the ball down the field instead of all of these short swing passes and screens, which scream nothing but “we don’t trust you”. If we want the defenses to put all 11 in the box, just keep up the conservative playcalling and watch our offense go nowhere. Stockton’s passes seemed to be on-time and laser beams on the few passes he actually threw downfield (and not dropped). I just hope to never see another pass to the other team as bad as Stockton’s interception looked. Who was he trying to throw that one to?
No one. That was him trying to get rid of it when he should have just chunked it at Cash’s feet when cash didn’t realize he was “hot.”
From what I’ve seen of Gunner so far is that he is not risk averse enough going downfield AND he needs to respond to pressure better.
Can he see coverage, blitzes, and get us in the right play and make good decisions with the ball? Lots to find out.
While I do think he is dual threat, that last hit is one your starter can’t take. We don’t need to go to Puglisi.
Best option is to dominate OOC opposition on the LOS, RTDB and let Stockton throw into single coverage.
If the run game is what its been and we’re in chuck and duck mode like we’ve been far too much with Carson this season, things could get ugly.
