Let’s be fair here and cut Sankey a little slack. We’re talking apples and oranges. Last year only 4 teams got in, this year it’s 12.
Yes, I’ll always belive we were one of the 4 best teams. But we should have damn well beat Bama in the SECCG to prove it.
It was just one of those years when there were a lot of other good teams. They couldn’t have left out the SEC champs. And the optics would have been bad to put us in over Texas when Texas beat Bama, won their conference, and also has 1 loss. UW and UM were undefeated. It was just a bad break for us.

Yep. I have zero angst over last year, other than fucking around and losing to a flawed Bama team. But everyone knew it was an elimination game.

If the SECCG gives a team a third loss I am confident that team does not get in this year.

I rarely make serious predictions because, well… just look at my record on the Fabris Pool. That being said, I don’t expect the conference championship games to survive past one or at most two instances where the #2 team in a conference loses and gets left out while the #3 teams sits home and makes the playoff.
If it happens in the SEC, I doubt Sankey will pull the plug right away because he loves himself them CG dollars. Maybe if it happens a second time, because then you may see an AD for the #2 team decline the “invitation” to that game. Also, the anti-SEC media will laugh their butts off. But oh my, if it happens in the Glorious and Sacred B1G, just watch out!
