This happened over the weekend.
A town that prides itself as one of the forerunners of the music scene for the nation, and it comes down to this. Truth be told, I could think of a ton of folks out there I’d rather see in Sanford, as I know many of you have opined here before. But, I guess if they’re going to potentially ruin the field for music, might as well sell a bunch of tickets and get butts in the seats and make money. I wonder if any of it could go to the Collective?
Anyway, it got me to thinking about this group, which I used to enjoy immensely in my time in Athens. I think I’d rather see them in Sanford than those two above.

I live near Monroe, and they have a first Friday concert every month during the summer. Free show, just bring your folding chair or blanket to the town green. Kinchafoonee Cowboys are scheduled for Friday August 7.

They definitely want acts who are going to wear their Dawg fandom on their sleeves. I don’t have a problem with either of these guys. I’m betting at least Bryan is a Magill Society member, and they both probably give to the NIL collective. That’s probably a prerequisite to be considered for this opportunity.
I bet Glenn is McGill member, just not the same tier as Luke. I was TJ driver for my wife and daughter to go see Luke in Athens. I hung out downtown with a friend. Downtown was a ghost town. We walked in Chuck’s at 7 to see it 1/2 empty.
Both huge dawg fans and supporters. I’d be very surprised if they took a dime more than what it took to cover their costs. I suspect this was geared to make funds for the athletic department just like Morgan wallen, Riley green, etc. at other sec venues.
Interestingly, The Kinchafoonee Cowboys and Luke Bryan are both from Lee County. Luke may be a few years younger, but I’m sure they probably played together at some point in South Georgia before Luke got big.
