Strength and Development, The Kirby Way

Kirby Smart, standing strong in the era of NIL.

Also, here’s some images from Scrimmage 2. Not much to reveal, except I wonder what the yellow skull cap means.

Every clip I see seems to show an image of Elyiss Williams catching the ball, which gives me hope that (a) we’re getting the TEs involved in the pass game more this year and (b) that Elyiss is going to be one of the most involved. We gotta start doing something with that TE development and USAGE for something other than shoring up the offensive line’s shortcomings.

  1. It wouldn’t surprise me one bit if the move at OL coach was not related to the tight ends. The fact that the tight ends were having to cover for the deficiencies of the OL instead of catching passes probably was not sitting well with Kirby. They are still going to have to block their asses off just like the other receivers, but other teams need to fear them as pass catchers first and an extra lineman second.

    • I agree with you, but I’d love to see Elyiss pancake some DEs like Granddaddy Big 0 did. I loved watching Darnell just road grade defensive players and then make a big catch/run for a reward.
