Musical Palate Cleanser, An Apology

Scamps, it’s been a bit of a stressful Christmas around the McDonough house, so I wasn’t thinking when I ran the Christmas posts yesterday…and I forgot the Senator’s favorite Christmas post.

Cheers to the Senator and his legacy he has left us here.

If it’s been as rough a 2025 for you as it has in my neck of the woods, the good news is the New Year’s is just a few days away.

Happy Holidays, scamps.

  1. Thanks for doing the heavy lifting around here. Happy New Year to you and yours, and here’s to hoping for better times ahead! Go Dawgs!

  2. I’m going to drop this here because it’s the first opportunity of the day.
Christmas day was awesome and I was so busy I didn’t get to check in and tell all of you MERRY CHRISTMAS!! So I’m telling you now.
Thanks so much for the work and love you put into GTPR!
    It’s great!
Blessings and good things for all DAWG fans for the coming year!

  3. If you have a stressful Christmas, you are doing it all wrong! Eliminate any and all things that could possibly cause stress in your life, especially on the greatest day of the year for Christians! If it’s cooking, order out! If it’s family, don’t have them over! Whatever it is that is making your day miserable, change plans!!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year JP, good luck with the stress brother, it sure ain’t necessary!

  4. JP, you are doing an amazing job of continuing of the legacy of the Senator. I hope your work on GTP refugees is not part of the stress you are experiencing. If so, please consider unloading more to your peers. While we’d surely miss your contributions, it is no worth it if it is negatively impacting your life. Have a peaceful 2026!

    • Seeing a lot of these so I’ll say the stress doesn’t have anything to do with the blog…this is my happy place. It’s life outside of here, interesting how it comes at you super fast and out of nowhere. So it goes.

Thanks for all the warm regards, though…I’ll be here every day while I go through this valley of life!

      • We are a family of DGD’s! I for one will pray for you to find peace and comfort. Lean on the Good Lord in troubled times JP, may God Bless you sir!

  5. You’re a gift that keeps giving to the whole GTP community JP. You are doing great service to the Senator’s legacy and to Georgia fans who want to enjoy the Era of the DAWGS every day as long as it lasts. You are a positive in an often negative world, even as you face some difficulties, and I commend you and thank you for that and hope you find solace in the happiness you bring others. Go DAWGS!

  6. JP, thank you for the all the great work you’ve done this year for GTPR. Please don’t let this site be a source of any stress for you. Hope your 2026 is much better as we celebrate our third NC in five years.

  7. Glad to see you mentioned the Senator’s Legacy. You, Otis, ee, and many other columnist and posters make me feel like an Heir rather than a refugee. Happy New Year to all who bask in the sunshine of this board.

  8. I was going to post that last night but figured it was too late. And it’s never too late! Sorry to hear circumstances have conspired against you again, JP. Hope things get better soon.

  9. I’m a lurker but long-time reader of of GTP.
Miss the Senator and Ranger but so very thankful JP picked up the torch and ran with it to keep this going. This is my primary goto site for the Dawgs because of the blog and the very best commenters. Thank you so much. Merry Christmas (one day late), happy & healthy New Year to all!
